When I deliver my son will be 2.5 and I know most of the time he will want to walk but some times he does get tired. I want to have a stroller that has that option for him. I need one that has the availability to snap in the car seat for the infant.

My 2nd part of this question is my infant car seat from my son is a chicco....does anyone know if those are universal? Meaning if I buy a double stroller from Chicco will my current infant carrier fit in it? Or will I need to buy a new one?

Thanks!!!

What can I do next?

We recently switched to a Sit N Stand from a side-by-side double. The older one is so much happier, and she can stand, sit or walk. The front seat comes with an attachment for infant carriers. Good luck!

I have the joovy ultralite sit and stand one for my 3yr old and 9 week baby. My son loves it. And it's not too heavy to put in and out of car.

Girl I feel your pain. My friend and I are wishing for our stroller fairy to find us the perfect double stroller and we've concluded it doesn't exist!
I was in same predicament when I had baby number 2 but my first was 17 months so I definitely wanted a stroller for both kids and my first priority was to make the chicco infant carrier fit.
Chicco does not make a double stroller!
I got the Peg Aria 60/40 split.
It's a good stroller but here's the deal:
good: light, easy, good for shopping, worked w/ my infant carrier, can get thru all doors (never been in bad situation really)
bad: had to get a new diaper bag to work with it (I highly recommend the Baby Mel 2in1 diaper bag!!!!), too short for me (we are tall people), the infant carrier stage was sort lived, not good for walking/jogging
So, now I am desperately searching for that perfect stroller again!
My thoughts now that my baby is 8 months and it's summer and I want to get out more. My mind is more set on the joggers right now.
Baby Jogger Micro (or mini) City -- ok, not a true jogger, pretty light weight
Baby Jogger Elite (or classic) -- also not a true jogger but definitely great for walks, not good for the mall and we shop a lot, heavy
Bob -- too big and expensive
If I had to do it all over again:
Macclaren umbrella type double stroller! drives easy for shopping, tall handles AND some sort of relatively inexpensive jogging stroller.
Good luck, let us know what you decide!

I'm retty sure the chicco carreirs are universal for the strollers. i would suggest a toddler sit and stand. It's awesome because th baby can sit in the front, and the older one has the option of walking with you sitting on the stool in the back or standing up o the stroller. it's worth it, it's light and my husband and I love it

Go with the sit and stand type stroller!!! don't remember what brand ours is, but it was perfect when my second son was born. My oldest was just shy of 3 yrs and this worked great for us. Highly recommend it; and the bar attachment on the front is universal for almost every type of infant carriers.

My son was 2 1/2 when my daughter was born & I bought the Joovy Caboose. It has worked out great! The kids are now 4 1/2 & 2 & we still use it here & there. I think pretty much any carseat will work. I went to Babies R Us to check it out before I bought it. Good luck! :)

Most of the time the car seat will fit - I would take it in the store with you when you buy the stroller just to be sure.

I didn't use my double stroller as much as the sit and stand version. The sit and stand version is much more manageable size and then your older child can sit or stand (and there is more space for the diaper bag and any shopping bags you might have).

The other thing that worked really well for me when my older child was 3 and the baby didn't need to be in the baby carrier in the stroller was the Maclaren umbrella stroller. The underneath supports are sturdy enough for the older child to stand in between the push handles while you are in transit, but it is super maneuverable.

Good luck! You just need to find something that works best for your life. Spend some serious time in the stroller aisle pushing different scenarios around!

I have to agree with everyone on a sit and stand. I would reccomend the Joovy Caboose. It is a little shorter and easier to manage than the other brands. It has a bar that sits in it to attatch a carseat. You can strap the older child in or they can stand.
I would reccomend going to babies are us and testing the strollers out with your older child in them so you can see how they handle.
My 2 were 20 months apart and we used ours until my oldest was around 4.

The sit-and-stand fits your scenario perfectly. It can be set up to accept an infant car seat. To find out if my car seat fit the stroller, I just brought the car seat to Babies R Us and tried it out! It worked, so I bought the stroller. It has worked really well for us.

I can't tell you how much I love my Joovy Caboose. We've had it for 3 1/2 years and added kiddo #3. I highly recommend a sit and stand tandem - shorter than a standard double stroller (front and back), only as wide as a normal single stroller, and lighter than a double stroller.

I'm not sure about a chicco double stroller but after having our second daughter my husband and I went through 3 strollers. We tried using two at one time, which was in effective since I was out alone most of the time, then we bought an Eddie Bauer double, the classic double stroller, it was large, heavy and a pain to maneuver in a store. I complained and struggled with it for 6 months all the while doing market research on other options. Finally after a lot of talking and thinking and research we splurged and bought a Phil and Ted's double stroller, it's where there is one kid in front and one clipped on the bottom.

I struggled with it because I was worried the kid on the bottom would be unable to see. So not true, my daughters LOVE that stroller, they are both happy with it and I'm in love with it. When my oldest isn't riding in front I can unclip the seat my youngest is sitting in and clip it on the front! It's amazing, it also works great as a booster seat in a mall. The other bonus is that if I only have one kid with me, I only need to use the stroller in single function. It's maneuverable, light, easy to life and fold and the best investment I ever made. I didn't get ours early enough for the infant stage but you can purchase an infant seat bar that clips in to the front to put a carrier in and I think the Chicco may fit. During taht time your 2.5 year old would ride in the back seat, my daughter loves either seat so it wasn't a problem for us. The other thing I love is that it has a jogging strap attached. My oldest, when she wants to walk, slips her hand through the loop and holds on. It's like she's walking "independently" without having a leash but still within my control - that is amazing for both of us and I don't lose her.

Whatever you chose, check out it's weight, fold it, unfold it, lift it into your vehicle if you can or pretend, push it around tight areas and really try it out.

Good luck!
