Use straight vinegar, not bleach, and let it air dry. That should do it, but if it doesn't, try some of the enzyme treatments from the pet store.
my neighbor gave us a toy, left outside obviously..and smells like dog pee...how do i get smell out of it, i've tried spraying it with bleach and water, scrubbing it.. ect...
my son loves this toy..and i want to keep it in the house..but it smells yucky!

OK - so I'm not sure if this will work - but vinegar works wonders. I've put a cooler of books with a bowl of vinegar to get rid of smoke smell - I've also closed up the car with a bowl of vinegar to get rid of vomit smell. So I'd give the same try to your toy after washing it down with vinegar then enclosing the toy in a spot - a cooler or maybe a car trunk. Leave it for 12 hours and see how it goes. Let me know if it works.
Put it through the dish washer (by it self). If that doesn't work, soak it with arm and hammer baking soda.
Hi JS
My favorite is to soak the plastic toy in a combination of vinaeger, water and baking soda
overnight. Use on quart water to half a cup of vinaeger. Then I scrub the creases with an old toothbrush.
It always works.

There are numerous products on the market today that can be found in the pet department of your grocery store, pet stores and on line for eliminating the scent of animal urine. Just do a search on line or check out your local supermarket or pet store.
Hi my name is J. & I have dogs so I know what the
smell is all about yuk try soaking the toy in Hot soapy
water for about an hr then run it through you dish washer
hopefuly it wont melt but it should come clean & it will be
sterilised because of te heat this is what I did with my
grandaughters toy or you might run it with a load of whites
in your washer this might do it ?? as well
Yours truely J.
if they used it outside, and it smells like dog pee...i would either leave it outside also or get rid of it...what kid of toy is it?
I do a lot of my shopping at Goodwill. I've put several plastic toys on the top shelf of the dishwasher and washed them with my regular load. All of them, including one that played music, came thru the wash looking nearly new. The one with music even still played music once it was completely dry.
Whoops! Is it a large, perhaps toy that he rides? Then the dishwasher won't work. And since bleach hasn't gotten rid of the smell, I'd buy an enzyme cleaner made specially for urine odors.
If it were me I would throw it out and move on. Dog pee is really hard to get out of plastic toys, as plastic is very porous. What kind of toy is it?
