I use it in the laundry to fluff up blankets, towels etc. I also put it in with my cloth diapers back when I used them. In addition to floors, I use it on pots & pans and other misc. cleaning including faucets etc.
I get rid of ants with vinegar and put it in the water to clean the floor. Is there something else I can use it on?
Thank you everybody!
I use it in the laundry to fluff up blankets, towels etc. I also put it in with my cloth diapers back when I used them. In addition to floors, I use it on pots & pans and other misc. cleaning including faucets etc.
I clean windows and mirrors with it.
Spritz the area if one of my dogs has an accident.
Apple cider vinegar for trapping those pesky gnats/fruit flies... the vac suction hose works great on that too.
I most often use it to make buttermilk - 1 TBS added to 1 C of milk, wait 10 minutes and voila - buttermilk for cooking!
Unclog the shower sprayer- soak a paper towel or washcloth in vinegar, place it on the showerhead, wrap a plastic bag around it and secure with a twist tie. Leave it overnight and it dissolves the hard water deposits.
Cooking- make homemade pickles, add to beets or cooked spinach.
Fun- do baking soda and vinegar experiments, like the classic volcano or filling a balloon.
I use it to clean windows, to remove hard water build up, and its great for cooking too.
I've mixed it with alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, jet dry, and dawn (then diluted 4:1) and used as a daily shower spray to prevent the hard water and soap scum build up. Really works when I use it - husband refuses to refill the spray bottle for some reason (and I'm not good at getting around to it, either).
My dad always told me that tossing some vinegar into the washing machine with the red's keeps the color. I also use it to wash floors and windows. Non toxic and gets floors feeling soooo clean. Doesn't have the best smell but that only lasts for a L. while.
Ooooh, I posted this question last month and got some great replies. Clean with it (one bottle 1:3 vinegar water for most surfaces), clean windows with it (no streaks!), put it in the laundry loads, warm up a bowl of it in the microwave, then the crud will wipe clean off, put a bowl of it on the counter after cooking fish or frying something to take away the smell. Oh, and salad dressing!! :)
We use it for a ton of stuff. It is GREAT on toilets and so much less toxic than regular toilet bowl cleaners. Also use it to wash floors and to deodorize the dishwasher. My mom soaks her dish sponges and kitchen rags in vinegar because she thinks it keeps the germs off them. She also drinks some with honey daily for some reason or another.
I use some in the washer instead of Fabric softener. Clean kitchen floor, bathrooms. Some recipes call for it.
I heard you can mix it with honey and use it for a sore throat because the vinegar kills the bacteria.
I used to use it to clean out the hard water clogging the coffee maker (when I had hard water).
(I did it differently than 3BoysUnder3 -- I did straight vinegear into the pot, maybe 2 cups, then brewed just the straight vinegar. Poured it into the coffee maker a second time pouring any sludge into the sink to drain. Brewed that second pot and sometimes a third pot too. Then to rinse, brewed straight water about 3 times.)
vinegar is awesome. It can be used for so many things.
here is an awesome link that has 1001 uses = )

but just my own personal use, it takes the sting out of sunburns. It takes the urine smell out of clothes or bedding ( and carpet)
I put vinegar in my chili, in my vegetable soup and in my sweet and sour green beans = ) so yummy! And good for you = )
Hi L.,
It will clean your windows and bring your husband's blood sugar down...
M.
I second the cleaning of windows w/ it and also removing hard water stains from bath/shower doors. With a little elbow grease they are clear and sparkly afterward!
pouring ice cubes and vinegar down the garbage disposal and turning it on will clean it and get ride of the smell.
To get rid of hard water build up in the dishwasher.
i use it instead of soap in my carpet shampooer. I make hot sauce, mustard and catsup with it and pickles. I add vinegar and sugar to my rice when i make vegetarian home-made sushi...........but that's a completely different type of vinegar for each job.
Cleaning windows, vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Adding to the laundry, gets rid of smells and prevents stale smell in towels. Adding to the cleaning water for cleaning our back stairs (indoor porch) and basement cement floor. We do use soap for that too but adding the vinegar helps get rid of an odd odor that comes up from the stairs and cement.
it does WONDERS for cleaning out the coffee pot. I put about 8 cups of water and then 2 to 3 cups of vinegar in and run it like I would a normal pot (minus coffee of course). then after it is all run through i rinse the pot put fresh plain water in then run it in again, just to rinse away any lingering vinegar. also you can put it in the rinse agent part of the dishwasher, it makes you glasses and silverware all shiny and pretty.
My MIL told me that when she was a little girl her mother used to wash her and her sisters hair with pure vinegar from time to time. she said it made her hair very soft and silky (they are from Romania so i'm not sure whether or not it actually worked or if it is a "gypsy" thing). i have seen a few recipes for chocolate cake call for a few tbsp of vinegar. and if it is apple-cider vinegar you can use it to trap gnats. just some in a bowl, wrap with saran wrap, poke a few small holes. they can get in but cant get out, they drown.
House cleaning purposes, not a big fan of a bleach smell.
I also use it as a fabric softener/disinfectant in the washing machine. The wash comes out smelling sweet not like vinegar. It can also remove hard water buildup from the faucets.
mix it with baking soda and dish washing soap, and it will clean pet urine out of carpet
I use it to clean my Keurig coffee maker and I use to clean out the vaporizers/humidifiers.
On occasion, I'll add it to my laundry during the rinse cycle.
I've used it to clean with, catch fruit flies and lately I've been using it to clean fruit. I just found this web site and there must be at least 100 different uses for vinegar! http://www.versatilevinegar.org/usesandtips.html
My husband takes a swig of it at night if he gets a leg cramp.
I use it to clean my no wax kitchen floor.
I have some in a spritz bottle for cleaning eye glasses.
Salad dressing.
Vinegar has many uses!!!
cleaning clothes.
de-calcifying the coffee pot
washing windows
There isn't much you can't do with Vinegar!!
I keep a spray bottle with vinegar and water and use it to clean all mirrors and windows, wipe down sinks and counters, tub etc. I also use vinegar when I can, I put a splash or two into my water canner and it keeps the jars clean!
Windows, bathrooms, and a splash in the washer instead of fabric softener.

White vinegar for laundry, dishwasher, coffee maker.
I love vinegar, got a pantry full of different kinds for cooking.
:)
I use white vinegar to take away odors. I put some in a bowl and let it set for a few days. I also use white vinegar as fabric softener. I put a small amount in and then mix with water - may machine has a place for fabric softener. Saves a lot of $$. Some think it will make clothes smell of vinegar, but it does not. :)
removes ink from clothing.
I recommend half water and half vinegar as an ear cleaner for pets.
Salad and that's about it. I just hate the smell so I would NEVER use it to clean anything...just my opinion.
laundry, steam cleaners coffeepots, windows
Mix it with water, a 1:1 ratio, and use it for all mirrors and glass surfaces.
You can also wipe down countertops to leave them clean and deodorized.
I've also used vinegar to clean the copper bottoms of my pots. Sprinkle SALT on the copper. Then pour the white vinegar on. It will magically make the copper bright again! (I learned that trick from watching a cleaning show.)
I put it in the fabric softener dispenser on my washing machine for every load of wash. I use it for cleaning all sorts of stuff. I use it to get smells out of things. I've used it along with baking soda to help clear out drains. When the coffee machine gets gummed up or the coffee starts to taste off we run a couple cycles through to clean out deposits. I know there's more but I can't think of anything else at the moment.
I hate the smell but it's so much better than the nasty chemical smell of toxic cleaners!
There is an entire book on what vinegar can do. Google uses for vinegar and tons should show up. I know I put it in my laundry when I want smells out. You can clean your bath and kitchen too.
i use it along with baking soda to get rust off the kitchen sink, and calcium build up around the kitchen faucet and shower head.
We do a lot of home canning and we mix a little vinegar with water and boil previously used lids in it. The vinegar softens the rubber ring and then we can reuse the lid and it will (usually) still seal. Vinegar's a lot cheaper than dozens of new lids!
I make my own mayonaise.
Half vinegar and half water will clean my windows in direct sunlight with a sopping wet rag leaving no streaks. I use it to clean everything. Put in olive oil with it and you can use it as furniture polish. I've used it as fabric softener. Disinfect the toilet. Clean the kitchen appliances. I don't buy regular cleaning products anymore - vinegar pretty much does it!
I use it to clean pretty much everything - floors, counter tops, bathroom surfaces, glass. I pour boiling vinegar on ant hills.
Added to rinse water is great hair conditioner. Makes hair so soft and shiney.
Speaking of hair....... baking soda added to shampoo is a great clarifying treatment, rinses out easily.
You can use it as a rinse aid in your dish washer.
