T.S.
I think it's sweet how close my 18 year old son still is to his (youngest) 13 year old sister. He just got home from college and when he walked in the door their eyes literally lit up when they saw each other, I love it!!!
For example, I noticed that when my 14 year old girl gets up, she rubs her eyes and stretches the same way she did when she was a little girl. I think it's adorable! So I was just curious if your teens still do those types of things or if they've grown out of it. Or if your teens do anything "cute" anymore? Cause there are some times that I just want to strangle my teens, LOL. But there are times every now and then that they fall asleep in a adorable way, or just do something that puts a smile on my face. Just a fin little question!
Thanks for answering!

I took a photo just this past year....of my 24yo son sleeping, with his face in repose.....exactly as in a photo when he was about 7. I plan to mount the 2 photos side-by-side. It is amazing how it is the exact same pose! :)
Well, my MIL is always talking about behaviors that my hubby has carried since childhood... Like how certain items MUST be in their exact place. When he was a kid, it was his toy cars. They had to be parked in the right order, just in the right place. Now, it's his hat, wallet, and car keys. lol.
He also still sleeps all over the place. And talks in his sleep.
It's funny too, because our daughter does the same things. It will be interesting to see if they carry into adulthood with her. :)
Even my 24 year old son looks cute when he sleeps. Same for my 22 year old daughter. Just don't let them catch you staring at them when they sleep cause they think it is creepy. :p
Oh yeah, my daughter still drools when she sleeps. Yeah, not something you point out either. :)
Funny, just yesterday morning I went to wake my oldest son,18, and he did this big stretch that brought me back to when he was a little guy. He doesn't wake quite as cheerfully as he did when he was little though!
My daughter still has her sleep rituals. She is 17.5. Has to have the satin pillowcases, she makes her bed like a cocoon.... She is surrounded by pillows and soft blankets and the poodle slips into his spot with her nightly.
When she does get married someday, I don't know where her hubby will sleep!.. LOL
As for her privacy, she has the entire 2nd floor of our house. Of course if I go to her room I knock. We are tight with each other and secure with our relationship as mom/daughter. I am a lucky one to be able to say I have a good relationship with my daughter.
My 17 yo boy used to pat pat pat my shoulder/arm when he was little and sitting next to me. Sometimes he'll walk by me now or give me a hug and pat pat my shoulder as he goes by. I don't think he knows he does this, it's a little auto habit. And it takes me back, I look at him and see a 3 year old again.
My boys are both growing their hair out and when it gets hot or they are out running around, their hair clumps and sticks to their foreheads and reminds me of when they were little. The older one gets curls at the nape of his neck when he sweats, adorable, looks like baby curls.
HAHA awww I love when my 8,6, and 2 year olds do that now, glad to know it goes on through the teen years :)
I knock on the door for my teens. They are older, and maybe because they are boys, I think that they need privacy from their mom, LOL! So I actually don't know if they look cute when they sleep. Judging from what they look like when they get up, hair all over the place, groggy from just waking up, scruffy whiskered and oily faced, well, it seems to me that they look more like an adult who needs a shower and a shave!
Sorry to burst a bubble here!
Dawn
My youngest was always a good nap taker because he was on the go all the time.
He still loves his naps, and my DIL always tells me "Sam naps too much"..
I'm like "well, he always liked his naps when he was little too.."
My oldest, a gamer since asteroids came out on Atari... still a gamer.
Both of my sons have successful careers despite their childhood habits.
I don't see my 16 and 12 year olds fall asleep or wake up. They do these things in their own rooms. I'm not the type of mom to enter their rooms when they are sleeping, to look at them sleeping or anything like that. I can't really think of anything "cute" that my almost 17 year old does. She's a great person and I adore her (although I have those strangle moments too).
One of my teens still makes her toddler pout face. So cute! I love that you can get a glimpse of their child self :)
