anywho does your skirt ride up as you walk?
I'm wearing one of those business tight (are they called pin) skirts and as I walk up it goes
one time I was walking with 2 huge containers of wings and i couldnt keep wiggling it down because i almost lost the wings
so I gave up and jsut walked to my car, and by the time I got there I'm sure it looked like J. a thong and business shirt (while carrying wings?)
luckily J. paramedics were outside so I don't think anyone saw..thank god it wasnt my friends because I would have been the butt end of jokes for a while

so do yours ride up?
whats your solution?

im already 6 foot so they start out shorter then intended on M. anyway

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

It's not too tight. I'm 6 foot and 145lbs although I need to tighten up...I can wear the low waisted skirts fine but the high wasted ones that are a-line seem to be what rides up..and I love the way they look...they make my smallish butt look in shape and perfect.

oh theresa if only we felt that way about ourselves...i dont know why i wear skirts, half the time i'm in the miror checking my butt, less, stomach and so on out and readjusting the ladies...if only my parts stayed at the position I place them in in front of the miror then I';d be happy=)

I have the perfect solution; I rarely wear skirts. I have no sense of fashion, either, so my solution is not going to work for everyone.

Shorts for M.. If I do wear a skirt, it usually hits M. right above the knees and is a-line or something else that's not clingy. (at nearly 42 I'd feel ridiculous in a short skirt, but that's J. M....)

It's the eternal problem with clothes! If they don't fit, they go nasty on you.

Probably the best solution has already been mentioned: Make sure your skirts really, truly fit - in the waistline as well as in the hips. If a skirt rides up, go to a tailor and see what's the matter with the silly thing.

Sometimes a skirt rides up because it's friction-ing (that's not a word!) against something else. Traditionally, a lined skirt (or possibly a half-slip) helps solve that problem. Alterations and lined skirts sound expensive, but they're worthwhile if you want to avoid the embarrassment you've described!

Um... you were carrying what? WINGS? I have a mental picture....

My take on it is if your skirt rides up it is too small and should be a bit wider so that it holds its shape and your in a flattering manner. This way you look like a lady and not the other. The riding skirt takes away from the image you want to give.

Buy it bigger and have it altered.

That is my take on it.

Your skirt is too tight in the thighs and/or rear if it rides up when you walk. Try the next size up. It that is a little too wide in the waist, you can try a belt, but it if is way too wide then you'll need to find a more flattering cut for your body type.

Added: I saw your follow up. If you don't feel like it is too small then it is simply not the right cut for your body. You obviously can't keep wearing skirts that ride up when you move, so you'll have to find another type.

At six foot tall and 145 pounds, you're already slim (same exact size as my former nanny, who had not one ounce of fat on her and wore a size 10). If you have a skirt that's riding up, it's not the right cut for your figure. To ride up, it has to be catching on some part of you... probably your hips or thighs. Try the next size up or a different style.

I wear a slip or a pair of pant liners made out of a nylon tricot fabric. They act like a slip but stay out of sight.

I think that if you are wearing regular underwear you might try some nylon ones to see if it makes the fabrics not stick together. it will allow the skirt to slide around and not bind up and have friction with the other fabric blends.

My friend wears bike shorts with Lycra and spandex in them under each of her skirts to act like her slip.

It means you are not wearing the correct size or style to fit your body.

Tummy, bottoms, thighs.. These are the body parts that help you figure out the style you need.

You need to look at your body shape and wear the style that works with your shape.

Also correct undergarments can also make a difference. A lined skirt does not need a slip, but an unlined fitted skirt, may need a nylon slip.

Spanx down the thighs are also a great way to smooth out some of the areas, that skirts like to attach to.
