The above link is of gumdrop yard decorations. I think they are very cute. But the store is currently closed for the holidays. So I cannot order them. Wondering if anyone knows how they were made??? I could use an upside down flower pot but they wont have the same curve of this deocration which really looks like a giant gum drop. Also would like to stack them up and save them for Christmas decorations over the years. Planning to use it for the kids joint birthday party " Candy Land" Theme. Sorry in advance for those who arent fans of themed partys....I AM!!! :D

Looking for the shape form to use. I think I can get the paint and sugared effect on my own.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

ok Thanks Ladys. I think from your combined answers I found my form. I have my own kiln just wanst sure how to make the form. I think a sand bucket will work with either a styrophome ball cut in half on top (same demention as the bottom of the sand bucket) will make a great form. If I cannot find a foam ball to fit I can use newspaper formed into a cimi circle. THANK YOU LADIES. My brain just wasnt using two different objects to make the form! ! !

Just wait until that store opens again after the holidays, then order them.
Their cost might be just as much, as making it yourself and buying all the supplies for it etc. Might as well wait and see how much they sell it for....or call them on that number they list on their site.

Or use "Floam" to get that desired effect of the "gumdrop." Its a kids "toy" thing. But if you get it wet, it is not permanent.

Here is a link from this same store per your link, in E-bay:

They describe how they make it but obviously do not say their "secret" for making it exactly.

That's a tough shape. A styrofoam cup would be smaller and you would need to texturize it. Maybe with that spray insulation? Great stuff, I think it's called? Use gloves! May be with a clay pot water catching bottom glued to the cup to give it weight for outdoor use.
Could do air dry clay over the top of the cup instead of the insulation stuff, just to round the shape out.
I love theme parties.

Maybe buckets for forms. fill with spray foam? The buckets would need to be lined.. but not sure what will not stick to spray foam..

Then you sculpt them to look like gum drops.

Then you can spray paint them then spray frost them?
