Disneyland in February

It doesn't rain in southern California. ha! That is the best time of year to go. Won't be too crowded and the weather will be nice. Bring clothes to layer, because the evenigns may get cool. have fun!

It rained when my parents took me at 5 yrs old, we wore panchos and loved it. I took my kids in November, it rained then also. We wore panchos and had a blast. Its kind of fun, because less people go when it rains and its easier to get on rides and get good seats for the parades.

It doesn't rain much on So Cal and when it does, I rarely recall it raining for 5 days in a row. I would think that going in Feb would be great because you'd avoid the crowds and long lines. Personally I think that Disneyland with rain is much better than Disneyland with lines that are too long to get into anything. I grew up in a city adjacent to Disneyland - so I have a lot of experience with this.

We went last year twice.. in Feb and Oct. We much preferred the Feb trip. We got lucky as it rained the day before we got there, and another storm hit as we were leaving. No lines and warm enough weather that we could wear shorts during the day. We took our 1 yr old and 4 yr old and they loved it. In October, we hit much more crowds because it was Canadian Thanksgiving holiday and spring break for Australia, so be sure to check out international holidays before booking your trip. Disneyland is always great, but it's better with less people and nice weather.

We just got back from Disneyland and had a great time. A few years ago we went in January and it did pour rain and we still had a great time. Take ponchos and see shows if it really pours. Drink how chocolate! One of our favorite memories is when my six year old son and I were on Grizzly River Run in California Adventure in the pouring rain. We had ponchos so we were fine. The the ride broke down and it poured and poured down. All we could do was laugh at how silly the situation was...sometimes the best times happen when things are less than perfect.

Weather in S. CA is usually good, but just as unpredictable there, as anywhere. Be prepared to have rides closed down as they do much of their maintenance during these months. We found best time to go was early May. They have some late hours, the weather is generally good, most rides are open, and school is not out so the lines are minimal! Have fun! N.

I have been to Disneyland in every season, with kids & without and I can honestly tell you that even if it did rain it isn't a big deal. There is so much to do there and so many opportunities to be out of the rain that it shouldn't hamper your trip that much should it rain. Bring comfy clothes, cheap ponchos, a good attitude, and a change of clothes if the forecast calls for rain while you're there.

And in 33 years of going to Disneyland (nearly every year, and many many many times in Jan/Feb) it only rained on us ONE TIME. We could have just been lucky or it could just be the nice So. Cal weather!

Our family traveled there from northern CA for five or six years over President's holiday... We always had a great time, rain or not....A.

I've been there twice in mid February and we're contemplating returning again at that time this year. So far we've had no problems with the weather. Sometimes it has been a little rainy or drizzly but never at a level to halt activities completely. The good news is that it is "off season" so the lines are shorter and when it's a little grey and drizzly it's even less crowded.

At 3 (unless she is really big for her age) there are limited rides she can go on but still some fun ones and areas that she should enjoy. They do have a service for parents/caregivers where you stand in line then one of you takes the ride while the other waits with kid, then you swap over as soon as they are back without further waiting. This may be useful for your enjoyment too.

We went over Presidents weekend a few years ago. The weather was perfect. No rain and not super hot, but warm until the sun went down - then we tossed on some sweatshirts.

It was however ridiculously crowded the whole weekend - took several hours to get on a ride.

Been there during that time of year amd it is usually cold and rainy. This year may be different since it has been somewhat warmer this winter.

Disneyland is open rain or shine. My brother and sister in law go evey January and they share great pictures of the kids having fun in the rain on the rides, and in the sun on the rides. It is all what you make of it. With this dry spell lately, I'm thinking chances of rain may not be likely.

Hi R.! We went to Disneyland last February for my son's 3rd Birthday - had a blast! We were there at the end of the month, and the temps ranged from 60's to 80's. Didn't get any rain (it's a little unpredictable this time of year, but SoCal doesn't get much rain at all). I grew up about 20 minutes from Disneyland, so I can tell you from experience that if it does rain, it is a great time to go! Just take a range of clothes (it's not uncommon to go through several layer changes in the course of a day), and have a great time! We will be going at the end of October for my 2nd son's 3rd birthday, and I can't wait! Have fun!!!

Everyone else said just what I would have but the only thing I'd add is just be prepared. Prepurchase rain ponchos....instead of getting stuck buying them in D-land. You can get several at a dollar store. They're not heavy duty but they'll keep you dry. Use a new one each day and have an extra in case one tears. They are small and can fit almost anywhere. We've found that when it's raining people who are not prepared were all huddled under anything they could just to keep dry, while we just walked right past them and right onto any ride we wanted. Our daughter who was bout 5 or 6 at the time thought it was a great adventure (we did talk to her ahead of time about it) and thought "those other people are silly". Go and have fun!!!

We actually went in November and it was the best time we have ever had. Probably eight trips in the last fifteen years. It rained and we had a great time. Take or buy ponchos. The key is to stay dry. Lines were short due to the weather. We were able to go on everything in a short period of time. One night on the way back to the hotel the kids and my husband jumped in puddles and had a great time. They were soaked by the time we got to the hotel, but we stuck them in a warm bath and everyone was happy. Don't let the bad weather ruin your trip. I think it is more fun going in the rain than the 100 degree summer weather:)

Feb. is my family's fav. time of the year to go! We've gone during Feb. for the last three years, and only one time did we even get a small shower of rain while there. And when I say small, I mean small! The rest of our trips, the weather was so warm during the day, we wore shorts and tees.
Keep in the mind the park does close early during Tues. Wend. and and Thurs. and they dont do as many parades and no firework shows. But on the flip side, it's so much quiter in the park, that you've been able to get on all the rides and have a great time.

Alot of rides would be closed down, so they would do other things while in the L.A. area.But she would always come back disapointed." Well, it is the happiest place on earth, even in the rain!! At least that is what I am saying now! We just booked our trip for the last weekend, and I didn't think about the rain until just now! But like was said before, it could be hit or misss, you never know!

If your going to Disneyland in February will make it rain, please go! We need some rain badly...just kidding. With the way the weather has been this year, I fear there is little chance of you being rained out. And if it should rain, I agree that it is unlikely to last long enough for you to exhaust all the "indoor" rides. I vote for the risk of a little shower over heat, smog, and masses of people. Have fun.

Growing up we always went to Disneyland on the "off" season. It's actually a nice experience if it's over cast and a little rainy (as opposed to sweltering hot!). Unless it's a down pour (which I seriously doubt given our current weather patterns), I wouldn't worry about rain too much. Just bring some umbrellas and warm clothes. You won't even notice the rain (if there is any). The only ride we ever avoided (sometimes) if it was raining was Splash Mountain.

One of the best days I spent at Disneyland was around this time of year. It rained fairly hard and D-land staff started passing out trash bags to make ponchos out of...they probably don't do that any longer. Anyway, we spent time in shows and the Haunted House Ride, Pirate's of the Carribean and other indoor rides while it rained. Many people left the park so there were no lines and after about an hour or so of rain it cleared up into the most beautiful afternoon and the park was near empty. It was one of the best days ever!

Southern california is hit and miss in Feb. (I am from there originally). Right now it was in the mid 80s. But it could drop and be rainy. Normally the rain doesn't hit until March so I think you'll be ok.

My family and I have gone twice to Disneyland in late January, for several days at a time. Only one day (I think out of 7) in those trips have we been "rained out" and even then we simply went back to the hotel, watched a little TV & took naps then returned to the park when the rain let up a couple of hours later, at which point the park was REALLY empty and we pretty much walked up to whatever ride we were interested in and hopped on.

I recommend choosing a hotel very near to the pedestrian entrance so you can choose to leave quickly and return later (or just pay for parking, you can leave & return, just hold onto your receipt). I do have to say that this past year we went in October and I think it was the best visit ever. Little to no chance of bad weather, but the summer crew is gone and the crowds are a lot smaller. PLUS I had no idea but there is a fantastic makeover of Disneyland (& California Adventure) for the month of October in celebration of Halloween & Fall. So if you decide to forgo the risk of February bad weather, try for October or November.

I had a friend/co-worker that just got back from taking his family to Disneyland (just last week) and he said the weather was beautiful and they had a great time.

I am original from L.A. and the weather/climate for the most part is great. That is one of things I miss about Southern California besides the beach and the food. You should go and have fun!

We have only gone in February with our children. Some years, the weather is in upper 80's and one year it rained. The rainy year was great. Lots of people left. Lines were non-existent. We had our rain boots, rain coats and umbrellas. (We put the baby in a backpack, and he was protected by the umbrella.) Don't let rain discourage you- embrace it! But, be just as prepared for nice weather.

I don't know about February. We went in April and the weather was just amazing! Not too hot or smoggy, but we were in shorts the whole time and swam in the evenings when we weren't in the park.
I don't know where you live, but I am WAY north, not too far from the Oregon border and it's been freezing here. Literally. You have to scrape your car windows every morning. The weather in L.A. is a lot different so you might be all right as far as the rain goes. I would call whoever you have your reservations with and ask them what the weather is typically like at that time of year.
We stayed at Disneyland Hotel and I don't know that I'd go back unless we could stay there again. It was awesome! They have a market and shops and restaurants and all kinds of different shows. Plus, if you buy something while in Disneyland, all you have to do is give your room number and they deliver your purchases to your room every night so you don't have to carry things around. It was wonderful.
