It is a old remedy of my mothers. Diaper rash is usually from too much acid in the system or fruits they are eating or heat and bacteria but the best remedy that always worked for me is using baking soda in the bath water. Let them set and play and in no time the baking soda will nutrelize the acid and the rash will go away . after drying as it stated,..you can use corn starch or mineral oil,.not baby oil,..baby oil has perfume in it,..mineral oil is without perfume. But do this bathing twice a day and after bathing use the corn starch or mineral oil on affected area.
Give alot of water not juice as this adds to the acid or dilute the juices with water. and also saltine crackers absorb the acid in the system ,..let them eat some crackers
My grandson had extream diaper rash and the other grandparent asked me and I gave her the same advice..the rash was gone the next afternoon. They had bought a rash cream that cost $24.00 the doctor told them to use that did no good at all. So I guess this is a natural ,..inexpensive way to cure the rash that worked better then a prescription. The other grandmother was very impressed to say the least and passed the knowledge on to her side of the family for their children..
