I was told anything with the most zinc oxide...which is the desitin. I found that the creamy kind rubbed off really quickly but desitin original stays on after several diaper changes.

I agree Aquaphor works great, but if it is bleeding then I would call your doctor for a prescription. It is always nice to have it around just in case you need it. I would put that on then use Triple Paste over whatever medication the doctor give you.

Don't use wipes to clean her if it's really bad, use wet paper towels, cotton balls or a wash cloth, I used the Target select a size papertowels so they weren't so big. Then let her "air" out for a little while use one of those waterproof pads if you're nervous and let her hang out without a diaper. You want to make sure she's completely dry before you use a diaper rash cream. Then if her skin is borderine broken/pimply use Neosporin and then the diaper rash cream. Our pedi nurse also said give a bath in oatmeal or baking soda to draw away the irritant/acid and not to use cleansers in the affected area.
As far as the sippy cup, see what she thinks of it now, you may have to try more than one brand but soft spouts work best. If she's not interested this time don't stress and keep offering it to her during meals.

Remember, moisture traps all the bad stuff, keep her dry as possible, use washcloths and water or paper towels, the fewest fragrances and scents, the better. Go for all natural, I used Dr. Smith's on all 3 of mine. If she tries a sippy cup let her. It is healthy and easier than a bottle. :) M.

A & D Ointment works great-be sure to get the ointment not the cream. Also rinse out your wipes so that you are only cleansing with water. The problem with the creams like Desitin is that when they have a poopie you have to wipe really hard to get off the cream-causing more irritation. The A & D stays in place, but removes easily. Also if there are really bad spots you can clean the area with water, air dry the area-then use a Qtip and apply corn starch to the areas-after an hour or two apply the A & D

We just slather on the Aquaphor, and it improves even after just one diaper change. Keep using it, and the rash will be gone in no time.

At 8 months, you can start giving your daughter water in a sippy cup to get her used to it. Just let her have it, but don't pressure her into drinking from it. At 12 months is when she should get off the bottle, and it'll probably be easier if she's familiar with the sippy cup. With both of my kids, I simply took the bottle away at 12 months and put their milk and water in the sippy. My daughter was totally fine, no adjustment period. My son took a little more time, but having soft-tipped cups helped quite a bit.

I am a child care provider in Garland and I have 16 years exp. w/ kids of all ages. I agree with the mom who said Dr. Smiths!! Each parent has their own diaper cream they like to keep at daycare for their child, however I recently saw the worst diaper rash on a child I have ever seen in my life! The mom took baby to the Dr. and her pediatrician told her to buy some Dr. Smiths and the rash was GONE in 24 hours!!! WELL worth the extra money !!!!!!! I have found it at walgreens & CVS but not wal mart

Most of my kids are transitioning from bottle to sippy cup by 12 months.

Hope this helps :)

I say to use Desitin Overnight (we like the "creamy") every night before bed. Some would say to use something with every diaper change, but I think that's overkill and I never wanted that stuff on my hands so many times during the day. We tried every cream in the book (Burt's Bees, Boudreaux's Buttpaste, Aquaphor, the special kind the pharmacist mixes up, some natural stuff bought online, etc.). We liked the overnight Desitin the best. My son had a persistent rash (from 1yo-2yo) that lasted for about a year and then just went away (it didn't bother him much).

Oh, and with the sippy cup, I'd start trying her with it now. I had mine fully transitioned by 13 months, but I started probably around 9 or 10 months. I think it's best to do it slow and gradually. Just try her with it everyday. Mine took to water in it before he took to the milk, but he eventually accepted the milk. I never gave my son juice until about 2.5yo, by the way, and even now at 3.5, he only gets about 1/4-1/3 juice and the rest water.

For diaper rash, I use Lotrimin AF (for athlete's foot). Spread generously, then I apply Desitin over that. This usually clears up the rash over night. I have had a difficult time transitioning to cups. I found that the Nuby cup has been the best sippy cup.
Good luck!
