Baby is due in July. Her room is shared with my 18 month old son. The theme is Frogs. I absolutely love them. Her crib decoration is Leapfrog from JoJo Designs if you'd like to look it up to help me with this idea I have. I'm staying with the light greens and browns. But I want to throw in a splash of color so I'm going with a light pink. Here's my idea.... I went to Ikea today and I bought the dresser I was looking for. One of them is a tall slender dresser and the other one goes right next to it which is average height. About the height of a changing table. On the tall slender one I want to put a lamp on it. I found (but haven't bought yet) a clear lamp base there. Her name is Lilyan (Lily) for short. I would like to decorate the bottom lamp shade with pink Lillies. I'm trying to find ideas all over online but I can't. I'm a visual person so if I see it I can do it. I know I can be crafty. Can you mama's please help me find a way to get this lamp done? I'm probably going to put a white shade on top. I'm wondering if I can fill the lamp base with water or oil without the risk of electricuting myself or anyone else? Any Ideas will be appreciated it! Thanks.

What can I do next?

Okay, I'm a crafter and an interior design blogger. So I see where you are going with this.

You can stamp pink lilies on teh lamo shade. Or make them out of felt or paper, or buy fabric ones and hot glue them on.

I wouldn't mess with the water/oil... it can get dusty, stagnant and gross looking/smelling. Perhaps putting a cute, plush lily pad or frog in there would be adorable.

For adding pink, you could use pink wallpaper, scrapbook paper or paint to line the back of the bookshelves.... like this:

glycerin is usually used instead of water for the lamp base. :)

I think you are having serious nesting / Martha Stewart moments.

I would NOT ever fill a lamp with water for a kids room. That's an easy safety hazard to avoid.

I would prowl around Michael's or other craft store and fill the base with brightly colored things, then add in a few frogs to keep the theme.

I like Momma L's ideas. I'm not crafty and only have one idea to add, instead of water/oil, what about glass rocks to give you the illusion? =)
