Hello ladies! I am hoping that you can help me out. I am fairly new to Tulsa. We have been here for two years. I don't know many people here yet to ask for advice so I am hoping someone on here might be able to help.

Here is my situation. I currently am a stay at home mom of 3 year old twin girls. I also do medical billing from home for my previous employer from Louisiana. However, I don't get many hours in & I am almost finished with my duties so I am not sure how long this will last. Also, my husband works full time & goes to school. It is possible that I will need to get a full time job outside of the home to lessen our financial stress. With my hubby going to school he cannot work as much overtime, etc.

I don't know a thing about daycares since these are my first children & I have been at home with them the whole time. Can anyone advise me on trustworthy daycares or ones to avoid. If you have an idea of how much this will cost monthly that would be great since I have no clue. Also, if you know of anyone that does this from home or someplace that we can just do a couple of hours a day. My husband might be able to change his shift at work to where he can spend the day at home with the girls & I am here at night. If that happens we would only need childcare for a couple of hours Monday thru Thursday while he is at class.

Sorry so long.

Thanks in advance!

A.

I use an in home provider in Broken Arrow that is absolutely wonderful! Depending on when you need to start, I'm not sure if she would have an opening or not. She is really good about working with your schedule if you only need her part time and she's very affordable. If you'd like me to ask if she would be available, let me know and I can get you her name and number.

I don't know much about the prices of centers, but if you're looking at full time in home daycare, it can run anywhere from $100-150 a week, per child. Of course, I'm sure someone would work with you about a discount for having more than one child in there. I'm sure centers will be more expensive, but it's been a long time since I've checked on those. Good luck!

Both of my kids went to Kids Connection in Mid Town Tulsa. My son went there from 2nd grade all the way through 5th grade and my daughter from the time she was 18 months until she started Kindergarden this year. They are WONDERFUL!! The staff interacts with the kids well and communicates with the parents on a daily basis. I never felt uncomfortable leaving my children there... EVER.

You can give them a call at ###-###-####. The assistant directors name is Amanda and she is fantastic to deal with.

It is located inside the Christ United Methodist Church at:
3515 South Harvard Ave
Tulsa, OK

Good luck!!

I know that Victory has a great program. My granddaughter goes there and loves it. They do a lot of fun things and the staff is great. You can pick your days, full or part time. Not sure about the cost. Another idea, is you may be able to find a college student that can help. Maybe someone in school. Not sure what school your husband goes to, but some of the schools have preschool on campus. Worth checking into. Good luck.
