I am expecting my first child early next year. I have found what seems to be a great daycare but they are pricey. Does anyone know if Creme dela Creme in Georgia offers any type of grants and/or scholarships to help with tuition?

What can I do next?

I found that expensive ones that offered the subsidized childcare had a lot of rough characters! Some of the kids just didn't have stable home lives and were very poor. The chaotic classroom was quite different from the glossy brochure. Teachers came and went like crazy, too (as they do at most chains).

The cheaper community daycares either didn't have subsidized care (or maybe not a lot of families used it?.)The quality here was much higher. Tuition was cheaper. There was not a glossy brochure. Maybe the facility was even older or not as fancy. But the quality of care was great! The teachers were consistent and stuck around. It was more family-like. Just...a happy place to be.

I would definitely ask about scholarships/grants. Look to see if your state has subsidized child care (and if you would qualify). Daycare is expensive. Maybe you could look at your job situation and see if you could job share, where other family, friends, neighbors take their children. Best wishes.

You can ask them.. I know kinder care does because they are so expensive. They will have all the forms to fill out.. I would do it now so you knwo if you can afford it or not.

I would call and ask. But probably they do not. They want to attract a clientele who can afford that tuition with no problem.

I did see a $500 coupon on their website - not sure if they would honor that coupon if you are going to enroll in 2014.

See if your employer offers a Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account. That will allow you to have money deducted from your paycheck PRE-TAX and you can use that money (up to $5,000 PER CHILD) to pay for daycare.

So- that would yield about a 20% discount, I think. Because your savings is that you don't pay taxes on that money. So you are getting $5,000 to spend but you will only see about $3,500 deducted from your checks. It depends on your annual salary and your tax situation.
