I used Turbo Tax for the last 2 years to prepare my taxes (need to use 1040A and several schedules). I like the program, but it's the most expensive on the market. Does any one have any recommendations? I see Tax Act advertised alot, has anyone used this program. I'm very concerned about my personal finances being on the internet. Thanks for your help.

I've used TaxAct.com the last few years. Depending on your AGI, it could be free. I think the cut off is $50,000. If you want to file your state taxes electronically, I think there is a small fee for that. Or you can print your state return for free and mail it in.
I've never had any problems with it. And I have been quite pleased with how simple it is.
I just did our 2009 taxes tonight with TaxAct and it was a piece of cake. :)
I know Turbo Tax is expensive, but my brother who is a CPA said it is the best one on the market for doing your own taxes.
I use Tax Act and I like it. I have pretty simple taxes though. It's free, but if you want help and some of the upgrades, you have to pay. I choose to pay, it's a small fee and can save you thousands of dollars like it did for me.
It caught a little mistake I made which had deducted almost $3000 from my return.
I use Tax Act as well. Since our return is very complicated involving Business income, Chld tax Credit , Dependent Care, tuition ans etch, we pay a very small fee for efiling.
This software let us do Business Income( Schedule C) when most do not.
