Creative Storage Ideas for Scrapbooks

Help me out ladies. Years ago, I got caught up in the scrapbooking fever. As a result, I have 15 of the 12x12 scrapbooks and years of events I want to scrapbook still to go.

My question is this- how and where do you store the scrapbooks? It seems like a shame to box them up. I thought of buying an old trunk and storing them inside. I could get a bookcase but space is an issue. Ideally, I want them accessible. The garage is out of the question due to moisture.

Also, has anyone tried the digital scrapbooking? What are the pros and cons?

Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I appreciate the input. I think I'm going to give digital scrapbooking a try. Once a friend pointed out you can scrapbook on your laptop while waiting for the kids to get out of practice, it seems like a good way to get caught up. As for storing the books I've already made, I'm going to keep looking at different furniture possibilities. Thanks again ladies!

Well honestly, a trunk seems just like putting them in the basement or boxing them up. Once they're in the trunk are you really going to be pulling them out and looking at them?

I have mine on bookshelves and even then they don't get looked at all that often, but it does make me feel better to have them out! ;)

I started digital scrapbooking a few years ago and I will admit the creativity and quality of my books has gone down! But I'm limited to time and space with two small kiddos and it's my best option right now. In the last few years on line sites and apps have gotten pretty good though. I'd check it out! It's a lot less messy!

All my albums (close to 30) are in a cabinet in the hallway. I have some smaller albums displayed in the living room, on the coffee and end table. A bookcase doesn't take up much floor space, and a trunk or chest is nice because it could double as a seat or side table, as well as storage.
Do you have a linen closet? You could probably get rid of some of your sheets and/or towels and clear up a shelf in there.

A coffee table with storage would be ideal. That way you leave one out at a time and rotate. Honestly, ours ended up like baby books, in storage never to seen again.

Pick a wall/room, get a nice shelf and display them. So when guest come over or the kids want to see them you can take them down. You can put the shelf up high and circle the room if you want. My MIL does the scrapbooks for the kids.. She has 2 gran kids, and one on the way. Plus her 16 year old son. I see the scrap book at christmas, but she keeps taking them back so she can reference and make them even for all. My son was number one so everyones books get benchmarked from his. I am behind on giving her pictures. ugh.

Good Luck
