Where Do You Put All Your Photographs?

I know that a photo album is the appropriate place and I do some scrapbooking, but seriously... how many photo albums can one family own???? I don't use all of my photos, but I do use a 35mm ( can't stand digital!) and so I get 24 or 36 exposure and often request doubles in case anyone wants a copy... I can't stand to throw them away.... and I don't really want to wallpaper my walls with them. Does anyone have any creative suggestions? I am an artsy kind of person so fire away with the creativity! :)

Hi J.! I too have tons of printed photos and nowhere to put them all! I did get lots of prints done when my daughter was in her first year. Now, I don't know what to do with them. I have started to put them all in photo albums (nice one's that you can leave on your coffee table to be viewed) and I also scrapbook. But, who has time to scrapbook all of the beautiful photos we take of our kids?! My solution: use a digital frame so you can view all of the pics without cluttering up your house with tons of different frames. I know you don't like digital but it really has helped me sort through all of the pics and pick out my favorites. Bonus: my daugther LOVES to watch the frame change to different pics. We even put one in her room so she can watch it as she winds down for the night.

Also: if you do have time to scrapbook, I suggest taking time out and joining a scrapbook club of some sort. That way, you get to have some 'mommy time' and get all of your scrapping done. GOOD LUCK!

Just curious, why don't you like digital? I personally think digital photo albums are the way to go. You can fit a ton of pictures in them, but they don't take up nearly as much shelf space as traditional scrapbooks or photo albums do.

Other ideas: make a calendar; use them as greeting cards; frame them and give them as gifts to relatives; make a collage.

Also, don't request doubles unless someone specifically asks for a copy of a particular one. That way you're not stuck with a duplicate of a whole roll.

Check out my website.

I know you said you don't like digital but I could scan all your photos and save them to a flash drive (I'd work w/you on price) for you if you'd like.
Then if you do decide to try something new we could get you set up to make books, cards, posters, playing cards, etc.

Keep it in mind,
Good luck with whatever you decide,

I am a photographer and had to learn to let some of them go. I used to save 15 of the same smiles from different directions, now I save two or one favorite and dump the rest. My clients appreciate it much more and you will have more space! Quit getting doubles.
