Company Reunion

So I have the opportunity tomorrow to reconnect with some former colleagues. The event is a big going away party for a long-time employee who has taken a buyout.

I've only kept in touch with one or two people from the company and am on the fence about going.

I think it would make me sad in a sense and I'm also ashamed of how I look. It's only been a year since I've seen everyone but I feel like I've aged 10!

So do I go or not?

It's rare i get out these days!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you, thank you, thank you everyone. I went and had an over-the-top time. I was emotional, nostalgic, and even had people say I looked great! A night out like this was just what I needed. I may also get some freelance work from it.

I can not stress enough the importance of getting out!

Go go. My god go! If the only thing holding you back is how you feel about yourself....go. If you like the people and want to reconnect with them...GO. Trust me...us women are harder on ourselves then anyone else will ever be. People will see you and will be happy to see you...they will not be evaluating you via the lens that you do. They will want to catch up and see how you are doing and share what is new with them. Get up and get out!

Get a mini makeover and go. Have a blast and learn to love and respect yourself. You are the only you you have. Why not lavish yourself with love and kindness?

I hope I'm not too late :)
I say go, see your friends, have a little fresh air and just beautify yourself.
This is the chance you have to go get your hair, nails and toes done :) take advantage. I'm sure your friends will be very happy to see you. I am also sure that they like you for who you are and not for how you look.
We often see ourselves in a critical manner, and our friends just see how we truly are. So, go and enjoy yourself!!!
Blessings :)

I say go. You will regret it if you don't. You don't have to stay long if you feel uncomfortable.

I have found that when I force myself to go to things like this, I usually enjoy myself.

Sounds like to me you don't feel any connection to the people that still work there. I don't see any need for you to go. I think calling the person who is leaving, if you were at all friendly, to say congrats or good luck, etc...then that would be all I would do.
