Comfortable Indoor Shoes?

My husband and I are thinking about making our house shoe-free. We have lots of stickers outside and a gravel driveway that we are frequently walking on. This brings these stickers and pebbles into our house. Now that our daughter is working on crawling, we don't want to have to worry about these things on the floor. However, I am at home all day and can't go shoe-less because my back hurts really bad if I do. Does anyone have any good suggestions for comfortable, indoor shoes that would stay on my feet? I've thought about Crocs, but don't know how well they'd stay on my feet (most slip-on shoes don't stay on my feet well).

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

We ended up not doing anything in the house. I bought a boot brush and we mounted that to our front porch. We try to run our shoes over it when we come in the house. That has really helped a lot!

I think you'd be surprised how many different styles of crocs are out there. I have some mary jane styled ones that are my indoor shoes because my feet hurt too badly with no shoes all day. I've also heard that Keen shoes and Acorn slippers are good from my husband and my cousin. Good luck in the search!

socks with skid proof bottoms might be a good option.

Honestly, any shoes that you find comfortable can become your indoor shoes..you just have to vow to only wear them in your house:) Esp. if you have back problems, you may find a good pair of gym shoes to be your best bet. Again, it really comes down to what you are comfortable in. I dont advise crocs personally, but that is just me. I find they make my children trip sometimes, and I have seen adults do it too. Just a thought! ~A.~

Hi H., have you thought about rubber sandals (usually sould in the Spring time at Target or Walmart) or buying a pair of comfortable tennis shoes that you would only wear in the house. My husband and I have house shoes: mine are rubber sandals and my huband wears rubber beach sandals. They provide alot of support and keep our floor clean for our little one who touches the floor and then puts his hand in his mouth all the time. Also, thanks for the good advice you shared.
