My son also loves to eat with them and they sure can be a pain to clean. I flip the deal inside out and use the spray hose attatched to my sink. It helps. I have yet to get it as clean as I would want though. Good luck.
I bought some of those mesh food bags that babies can suck on in order to eat real food, but I cannot get them clean. I have tried the dishwasher, the microwave sterilizer bag, soaking, letting them dry and then cleaning them out dry, etc. Does anyone out there have a method for getting these things clean? My daughter loves to eat bananas and sweet potatoes from them, so I hate to give them up, but they are just not getting as clean as I'd like. Thanks!

I was at the store the other day (I think it was Toys R Us) and they now have replacement mesh pieces. I would just get some of those.
My son also loved eating from the mesh feeders when he was younger, but I had the same problem and never found a way to get them clean. I just kept replacing the bags, which got kinda expensive. Great product, but they really need to help us parents out and make them easier to clean!
Hi,
I use these for my job sometimes. Instead of the ready made mesh bags I use regular old gauze to make a packet and then I present the food in the gauze. I always hold onto the packet as the child sucks on it. When I'm done I just throw it away. Of course you need to make sure that the food is secure in the gauze, but throwing it away is definitely easier than trying to clean it.
