Hi Moms,

Can anyone recommend a children's hair dresser in the Mansfield area? My daughter really needs a good hair cut.

Thanks!

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone for your responses to my request. I did take my daughter to Stylin Kids and she loved it. There were a few children before us but they moved them along nicely so there wasn't much of a wait. Her stylist did a great job and she likes how it came out. I couldn't be happier. Plus after you go for so many haircuts (I forget the number) you get a free one. It was nice and clean and lots of things going on to keep her occupied. I would highly recommend it too. Thanks again.

Hi D.,

There is a children's hairstylist in Mansfield called Stylin Kids. It is located near the downtown train station. I tried to take my 3 1/2 year old daughter there to try it out, but they were closed. Usually we go to Snip-Its children's hair salon in North Attleboro (but it is truly a hit or miss on how well it comes out depending on the stylist) but I wanted to try something different. I have to say in Plainville, the old Fantastic Sams near ManMar Drive gives a great children's haircut and it is cheaper than the other salons we have been to.

Good Luck!

K.

Stylin' Kids
It is off Rte 106 between the train station and behind Meineke and car dealer....12 Pratt St. Mansfield, MA 02048 508-339-KIDS (5437). They have a website.
I tried having my stylist cut my son's hair on my lap, first time I could bribe him, the second he screamed....we tried my husband doing a shave/buzz cut...he cried like you weer pulling out his finger nails....I tried this salon in the Raynham location and it was SO worth the $.
You can print out a coloring page from the web site and get a 1$ off. They can watch a DVD, blow bubbles, the raynham location has a koi pond and you pick a plastic duck and get a prize, they can get a pop (if you want them to) and there are always new toys for "helping". The stylist let me son feel teh clippers and see how they 'tickled' so that he would not be afraid. It was all very good!!
I only go there now! SO much less stress for me and he has fun

We take our 21 month old to Stylin' Kids. There just off the center near the train station and the Plaza with Fresh Catch and Quan's Kitchen are located. I'm not sure what the road name is but they're great. They have multiple stylists, toys for the kids to play, and a little Koi fish pond which the kids can put their hands in and "explore" the fish. Saturday mornings can sometimes be busy, but the wait is never long.

I know it's a little out of the way, but my friend who lives in Sharon takes her kids to a place in Attleboro. It's one of those kid's haircut chain places like Snip-Its or something. I've been to the one in Plymouth and they do a pretty good job. The kids are so distracted with what is going on, and the hairdressers are so quick, that it's super easy! They have a tall seat that looks like a hairdressers chair, but tiny, and it has a seatbelt on it. Then they play a video (it's corny, but it grabs their attention), and let the kids hold something (doll, bubbles, etc) - they snip away and then done! Then the kids get a prize at the end (usually a cheap rubber ducky or something like that - but they get to "get it" from a machine so that's cool to the kids). It's about $20 when you factor in tip, but at least no struggles or fears! Good luck!
