I ALWAYS use frozen chicken breasts. 8 hours seems to be plenty on low setting. I make chicken in my crockpot atleast once a week, so easy and yummy!
if you put the boneless chicken breasts in the crockpot with some BBQ sauce how long, on average, does it take for them to cook through? have you put them in frozen? i have heard you can but havent tried it myself, so if it is best not to then no problem, i'll wait a few more hours to put them in. also, what other ways do you cook you BCB in the crockpot? TIA
Thanks. I cut them in half and then covered them with 2 cans of cream of chicken, 1 can of cream of mushroom (I mixed them with about a cup of milk), cut up some fresh carrots, celery, onions, garlic, and potato's and put those in, added some pepper and salt and put it on high. so far it has been cooking about an hour and a half. hopefully it turns out. my crock-pot dinner from last night turned out a bit mushy. totally salvageable if you add corn chips though ( I did a spanish rice in the crockpot overnight and the rice got a bit mushy).

Sorry I mixed these two up. Didn't you ask about chili yesterday? I posted
the recipe for chicken question under chili. Sorry. Just switch it. So, for
my favorite White Chicken Chile recipe purchase Great Northern Beans and it's on the back or McCormick's packaged seasoning. Instead of water I use 1 to 2 cans of chicken broth. I always make rice, white or brown and serve with tortillas. It's very yummy!

I put frozen breasts in this afternoon. I put them on high about four hours ago and they are ready to eat.
Crock Pot Girls on Facebook has tons of recipes! I use my Bean Pot from Celebrating Home and have recipes for it that can go for the crock pot too. Email me and I will send you a cookbook we put together ~ ____@____.com
I have done BBQ Pulled Chicken with frozen chicken breast. I put 4-5 breasts with BBQ sauce in the crockpot and cook them on high for 4-6 hours. 4 is usually enough. Then I take two forks and pull the chicken with them. We serve it on buns or with corn on the cob as is. I've also done this with beef ribs. Hope this helps for next time. Good luck and God Bless.
