I have had both. I couldn't nurse in our glider. I liked it for rocking and holding, but nursing it didn't have enough room for me to comfortably support the baby. I preferred to nurse in our recliner -- it was oversized, I usually nursed with either a pillow supporting the baby or a Boppy. The recliner was softer then the glider too (even with pillows on the glider) so I liked it for comfort as well. Plus the recliner I could adjust to sit in different positions.
The only warning I have -- check how far back the recliner sits. Some lean back VERY far even when the foot rest is down. When I look for another one, I will probably look for an "against the wall" recliner, so it sits like a normal comfortable chair when not reclined. If you want a rocker recliner, I would just check to make sure you don't feel like you're going to fall backwards when you learn back... and that you can sit up enough to hold the baby without having to hunch forward.
Good luck!
