Hi all! My husband and I are debating a move to the Plano area from PA and have applied to 3 Catholic schools near there; Prince of Peace, All Saints and St. Marks. Can anyone tell me anything about these schools? So far Prince of Peace has accepted my 3yo, waitlisted my 4yo and I'm still waiting to hear on our 1st grader. St. Mark's has accepted all three, but they don't get very good reviews online. All Saints has accepted my 1st grader, but they don't have a preschool at the same location as their K-8 school.

As for nursery schools, we've been accepted at Grace Pres and St Matthew's. Can anyone tell me anything about these schools? What about Little Saints Nursery School?

Finally, we're looking at houses in both Plano and Far North Dallas. Does anyone have any opinions on which is the better place to be with 4 small children?

ANY opinions would be really helpful!

What can I do next?

My son goes in the preschool at St. Mark's. This was his first year in PK-3 and I have been impressed with everything. He loves school, loves his teacher, and has made many friends. I've been very happy with everything he's learned this year! I'm looking forward to putting all three of my kids at St. Mark's within the next few years. I live in Allen and with rush hour traffic it takes me 20min to get there. Good luck with your decision!

Hi,
As I can't tell you much about Prince of Peace or All Saints, I do have a child in 1st grade at St Marks. I love that place. I am sure it is not perfect, and it could have been better. But then... we could say that about every school.
I am happy at StMarks, they work wonderfully with my daughter, she reads without any problems chapter books. I get a note in my mailbox if things need to get to my attention, teachers are available and willing to work with your child as an individual. My child learns there a lot (even after not liking one teacher... she still loves the subject being taught, and after 6 months... she even learned to accept that specific teacher's personality and understands that not everybody is simply amazing). She is very excited about going there every day. She attended Kindergarten there as well... (great experience as well!). There is a lot of rules at the school... but then... I like it, since I am a big supporter of rule following and limits available to a child. Big decision maker for picking StMarks was that is really close for us, and traffic in DFW is BAD in am. It is an older school, so if you are all about the latest bells and whistles - this one may not be for you... I am certain it was the right choice for us :)
Send me a message if you had any questions.

I don't have much advice on the schools but can say that St. Marks is a wonderful parish. I was married there and my husband grew up his entire life in that parish. He and his siblings went to school all of elementary, then moved to public in jr. high. I know my MIL really liked the school back then, but I am sure things have changed over the years.
