Hi K.,
I am a mother of multiples. Before I tell you anything good or bad I need to know how far along you are.
So I went to my first prenatal visit with my first ultrasound..... to our suprise they saw 3 different gestational sacks.....
There is nothing showing in any of the sacks but they told me that is normal for multiples this early in the game.
Any one gone through this same situation?? I would be blessed with having 3 butscared that there is really none......
Hi K.,

K.. I wish you the best of luck with this. I know how hard it is with one. I can't imagine what you are going through mentally or physically. I do not really have any advice but you and your husband. Are in my prayers
Hi K.,
I have triplets and twins, 14 and 9 respectively so maybe I can help a little. How many weeks were you when you had your ultrasound? Seeing a heartbeat in the sacks is the true indication of a viable pregnancy. I think the heartbeat should be there at 6-7 weeks gestation. In my first pregnancy, I had an ultrasound at 6 weeks and there were 3 heartbeats. In the twin pregnancy there were two sacks at 6 weeks...one with a heart beat and the other without but by the 7th week there were two strong heartbeats. I will be happy to talk to you more if you wish....at ____@____.com luck!
I do not know about the multiples part, but when I went in for my first ultrasound visit, we could only see a sack too. Then the next time there was a baby! I think it was just too early to see anything yet. Good luck!! (-:
Wish I could ease ur mind but unfortunately like with any question relating to pregnancy with any of us...there's no way to know for sure until the day comes of ur next ultra sound, not even the doctors could give you a positive yes and it would be wrong for anyone else to put it into ur head that they know for sure that u are being blessed with 3. If the doctors said they saw three sacks then theirs definately that possbility. I remember when I got my first ultrasound with my second son I was really early in pregnancy b/c I knew the exact day of my conception date and 10 days later...Halloween to be exact I took the test and found out and saw my doctor very soon after and my ultra sound showed the sack and this tiny bean sized shape stuck to the top of this sack. It's possible that with all the crowding and it being so soon that they werent able to tell. It's also unforunate that doctors are not as open and forward with their answers and always leave us wondering with the what if's instead of saying that u r or are not but u will definately know for sure eventally and I hope it goes well for you. I would tell u to try not to focus all of ur days on thinking about this but I know from personal experience as well as all mothers do that this is not possible but my husband always say to me.."Can you change it?", I'd say no! He'd say, "Well don't worry about it then." But pregnancy is a very misterious thing so just try to think nothing but positive and know that w/e the outcome u will get through it and everything ALWAYS...ALWAYS works itself out.
I only saw a sack with my first baby on the first prenatal visit and it just turned out that by counting from my last period was not a good indication of how far along I was. I am sure if you give it a week or two on your next visit you will possibly see three floating heartbeats.
