Go with foix bois accents, perhaps some woodland creature figurines, birch wrapped candles, light sage green or rice paper colored paint...
Since this is a family room, and not a "man cave" you can still go with darker wood pieces, like a nice heavy rocking chair, leather ottoman and such, a rich quilt with flannel pieces, iron scones... but keep it light and airy with cream pillows, drapes, artwork, rug or throw.
Walk into an Abercrombie & Fitch and check out the rugs and furniture.
