Left this poem for a family that unexpectedly lost a (grown - barely) child to an accident (work-related) ... only knew a brother from school, so not close at all but hoped this would give them a measure of comfort.
Did anyone see this story about the marines honoring a young boy before he died of complications from Leukemia? It was very sweet and moving. I'll put the link in the "what happened"
Someone commented with a poem that I thought was beautiful:
Mary Frey written in 1932,
"...Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush.
I am the swift uplifting rush.
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft star-shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die..."

Restores your faith in humanity.
Thanks for sharing, now I need a tissue.
Pregnant hormones, at work and crying...Wow just wow! So touching on so many different levels. Loved the poem, and just fills my heart with happiness that these things happen even if it's just once in a while.
I am sure through all of the hurt and pain of loosing their son there was a strength that those marines gave to that family knowing that their little boys dream came true (to a degree) for him before he passed.
Thanks for sharing.
I hadn't heard about it but I just read that and I've got tears running down my cheeks. So sad but heartwarming!
Condolences to Cody's family.
Hoo-Rah to Cody the Little Marine!
