Hi folks -
Anyone have the Baby Jogger City Mini? If so, what do you think about it? Would you recommend upgrading to the City Mini GT? I'll be using it in mostly flat, paved areas, some gravel, a lot of walking but no jogging. Mall shopping (on occasion), too. Thanks!

What can I do next?

I don't own one yet, but I also have it on my shortlist of strollers I am considering. From what I have learned I would spend the extra $60 for the GT model.

When I tried it out in the store the regular City Mini felt rickety on uneven terrain the wheels look and feel cheap. Now the GT does not have pneumatic wheels like I would prefer, but they are definitely better than the regular wheels. If you are only using your stroller on absolutely perfectly paved surfaces and inside (like the mall) - I am sure the regular wheels will be fine. But and gravel, grass or playground mulch, I would want the GT.

BTW - even though the brand name is "Baby Jogger" none of their "City" models are meant to be jogging or running strollers...

I have the GT. I use it for all the things you describe and would highly recommend it. The regular city mini has plastic wheels and would not hold up well on gravel.

I have the GT. I really like it. Much better than the mini only. This has 3 wheels, which is much, much better than 4. Easier to steer especially one handed for a minute when needed. The larger wheels can take anything. The only thing that I wish was different is the basket isn't very big. There are other strollers with a better basket design. But the smallness and the easy folding and the whole stroller are great.

The mini is a great stroller - I highly recommend it! That being said, the tires are not very big and it would do very well on the gravel surfaces. If you're going to be seeing gravel/dirt/etc or uneven surfaces with relative frequency, then I'd opt for the mini GT. The mini is an excellent mall/theme park stroller.

The City Mini is an awesome stroller. I know a bunch of people who have it and they are all really happy with it. I have a double City Micro, which is very similar (differences between mini and micro are really small). It was a great stroller - easy to push, easy to collapse, folds up pretty small, decent storage, etc. I definitely recommend it. I don't know anything about the GT, but overall the various City Mini models are really good.

We have the double City Mini GT and LOVE it. It was definitely worth "upgrading" from the regular City Mini.

My husband likes that the handlebar is adjustable since he's almost 6' and i'm just over 5'. Plus, our oldest is almost 5 so the bigger seats and extra padding were a necessity (it's mostly our "theme park"/outings stroller). I don't know if it's different on the single vs the double, but the wrapping on the handlebar for the double GT is great, too. Its easy to have sweaty hands here in FL, and the rubber grip makes it very comfortable for us to use.

Oh, and the hand brake! I thought it would be weird, but it's SO convenient.
