Whats the difference? I see the obvious difference as far as wheels go but those who have used both what are the benefits on the jogging stroller?

What can I do next?

I was one who hated the idea of a bulky jogging stroller. Then, I got one! It is SO easy to push. It glides. It is very comfortable for my son, who hates strollers. He doesn't mind sitting in it, at all. The sun shade is larger and the tray is bigger. A jogging stroller can hold more weight then a traditional, which is why we bought one. I got mine at Target, with a giftcard...but if I remember right, it cost $99 + tax. The wheel can be fixed, or locked.

I used to walk 6 miles at a crack with a regular stroller. It was sort of brutal but I did it anyway. Then I got a jogging stroller. Wow. I will NEVER AGAIN push a regular stroller 6 miles...not even 1 mile. Seriously. I feel like the jogging stroller pushes itself. I love it! We went with the Chariot CX2 (double) and the downfall is that it is SOOO bulky. We can fit it into the back of the van, but it has to be completely empty with the seats down. So we obviously don't take it on trips.

Jogging strollers turn on a dime and are easier to push with one hand vs. your typical Graco. If you are a runner (I am), it's a necessity, especially as your kids get heavier, the jogging stroller is still easier to run and push.

the jogging one is for higher speeds and is more durable. Mine has bike tires that dont pivot (important for high speeds), a quality brake, storage and a remove able rain shield. I love it.

Jogging stroller have larger wheels and a wider base for more stability when rolling at jogging speeds. Regular strollers with little wheels are not safe for jogging, especially if the adult should accidentally let go and the stroller has to roll freely to a stop. A jogging stroller will roll safely to a stop because it is designed to.

I use my regular stroller in the mall or store situations. I love my jogging stroller for walks, jogging, running up hills, through grass, dirt. Its just more rugged for the outdoors. I think its best to have both.

Agree with sunny. Our BOB u can push with one hand no problemo. And its a really smooth ride. Cons- in some places its not practical ( tiny stores at the mall ) so you may have to have another option for when you are going to tighter spaces.

It all depends on your usage and terrain, and if you go to a good baby store they will ask you the right questions. I thought I had my stroller picked out since my baby could not stand the sun so I wanted one whose handle switched so in both directions she could sit in the shade. I also wanted one that could go on a dirt road. And I liked it if a bigger child could stand on a step. Well, the sales lady pointed out that if I want all terrain walking (I travel to Europe and live on a dirt road) and want my child to be able to lay down first and later sit in a traditional seat then I needed the Emaljunga. It was the best decision I ever made. However, it is WAY too heavy for jogging. When baby #2 arrived I bought a jogging double stroller - easy on all terrain, great big canopy, big rain cover and bug net to go over it all to give both kids a nice little private and cozy cubbie, but it was too huge to go into my trunk without removing the wheels (and I got the quick-release wheels, no tools needed).
So decide where and when you will use it, what comfort you want for your child, what features and accessories you want (cup holders for kids and mom, big basket underneath or not, matching stroller bag, place for your keys and mp3 player, optional all weather cover and leg cover, mosquito netting, pads in the seat for infants, etc) and you may find you might need one to keep in the garage for the jogs and long walks, and another in the car for smooth rides in the mall.
Oh, and if you have 2 kids in it, make sure both seats recline independently. One may want to sleep while the other one sits up. Same with the hoods, although my kids liked the big single hood.

I have both a Peg Perego and BOB stroller. My Peg was nice when my little G. was an infant (0-6 months), but I LOVE my BOB stroller. My baby G. falls asleep in while we run with the smooth ride and awesome turning ability. Baby Jogger has stroller that's not as wide as the BOB stroller, but still a jogging stroller. So, it's easy to take shopping, but still great for running. I don't think you can go wrong with either BOB or Baby Jogger if you're looking for a stroller to run with. If you're not going to jog/run with it, it might not be worth the money.

Joggers usually take up a lot more room in your trunk than a regular stroller, but they are usually easier to push and manuver. I have both, and only use my jogging stroller for jogging, or if we are going to a park or somewhere with a little rough terrain.

I have both. The bob jogger I use while I'm rollerblading, running or the beach. The bugaboo I use for the city, traveling or longer outings so the kids are more comfortable especially while sleeping. The stroller folds flat, so it's easy for the air travel and it comes with traveling case.

For me, comparing a regular stroller to a jogging stroller (in my case a BOB) is like comparing a school bus with all its bumps and jostling to a Cadillac. Our neighborhood has bumpy and cracked sidewalks and the jogging stroller easily navigates them, while the regular stroller had to be coerced over or around them. When used for jogging, the BOB I have has a single front wheel that can be locked in place for near perfect alignment and stability.

The biggest difference is maneuverability. The jogging stroller is so much better, especially if you are on uneven terrain. The downside is that that jogging strollers are wider, so they aren't good for narrow places (think of stores at the mall, etc.). That is why we got both strollers, with the regular strolling being used mostly for indoor needs. But my favorite is the jogging stroller.

If someone is a runner or jogger, that stroller is better for that activity. DH loves the jogger and it has a hand brake so she doesn't go careening into traffic, and a wrist strap to keep her close if his hand slips off. It's also better off-roading in general. I like my regular stroller better for long walks in the park (the jogger we have has a fixed front wheel) but frankly I love the umbrella stroller best for portability.
