Baby Carriers/ Moby Wrap

Is anybody interested in purchasing a Moby wrap? It is the UV coated kind in turquoise. I bought it for my infant daughter and she didn't like being in it. I probably only had used it for a total of maybe 30 mins. inside the house so it is practically brand new.

Anyone have any suggestions for a good baby carrier? I looked at the Ergo ones and I think they're better than the moby. Any thoughts?

What can I do next?

Love, love, love the Ergo! It is very comfortable for my baby. He was a bigger baby (9 lbs) so I did have trouble at first with the infant insert but now at 9 months it is easy to carry him. I recently saw a review on another carrier at www.deliciousbaby.com I think it was called FreeHand. It looked like less bulk and still a very comfortable carrier.

We used the Bjorn for my first baby and like the Ergo better as it doesn't hold the baby right by the crotch, it holds more on the bum.

I am short and short-waisted and I could never use the Ergo or Beco style of carrier at all. My favorite was the Mei Tai. But, I think if I had found this Chunei sooner (http://www.hosausa.com/) I would have used this. My son was 3.5 yo when my husband used it last. It's nice because it has a seat built into it, and it goes on like a vest.

If you have a little time, it's worth it to make a trip to Sprout Soup on High Street in Columbus (in Clintonville area). They have various kinds in stock and you can try them all on--from the "backpack" style to the Moby, to the slings to the mai tei, etc. You can take your baby and try them with her and see which one she likes. You don't have to buy--you can just try if you want.

Personally I liked the mai tei a lot, but I didn't start using a carrier till my LO was about 3 months old.

I have the Ergo and love, love, love it!!! In fact, it's probably the ONLY baby item that ALL of my girlfriends own and swear by. I love that I can throw my daughter safely on my back while making dinner- and because it's adjustable my mom, sister, sitter & even hubby can all use it to carry her as well. Simple to use, and I believe one of the only "carriers" that you can use in front, back or on your side (other than a sling).

I had an Ergo with my daughter and found it to have good support but bulk. It was not of much help until she had solid head support either. The infant insert was challenging to get in place right and when it was was very hot and I worried about her breathing.

I got a Moby for my 2nd and LOVE it! It is his happy place. If he is fussy, I stick him in there and he will be content for the longest time. I had a friend show me how to use it and that made a world of difference.

I am a baby carrier junkie apparently as I am currently investigating getting a new one myself. :)
What I have found out in my research:
Ergo has some unsavory business practices. So much so that I have decided I'd rather not give them my money. It also has a short body-bigger kids report feeling like they are falling out.
I like the Boba, but it is only good for older kids.
I also like the Beco...ultimately I am leaning toward the new Beco Gemini.
Then there is also Olives and Applesauce, I really like the look of this one, but sounds like it is one woman making them one at a time and there is a waiting list. :(
Lol. Hard choice. I am hoping we can go up to the Sprout Soup store-it looks awesome! I am glad someone mentioned it cause I was wondering if you could try them on in the store.
Here is a chart I found pretty helpful: http://www.theportablebaby.com/carrierfeatures.html
Hope it helps! Hope you find one that works for you!

I really like our baby bjorn. I tried the Balboa baby sling and I felt like my son was being swallowed in it and he didn't like it either. He LOVES sitting in the bjorn. It's the white and gray one and is much cooler than the darker colored ones, a huge bonus in Florida. Also, it's super-easy to put on and take off and really secure.
