Having my first child and am looking for child care while I am at work. I live in the Champions area in Spring and commute to downtown Houston for work every day. Does anyone have a suggestion for a nanny, daycare or an in home daycare?

What can I do next?

We LOVED Greystone House Monessouri on Cypresswood near Kuykendahl. The folks there are like family! My son grew and learned a TON while there! Check them out! Ask for Amber who is there in the afternoons from 2-close. Tell her J. H. Sent you. I loved that school!!

Houston Nanny. You can schedule an interview before you hire. They pre-screen. I used Houston Nanny when I was on strict bedrest with our son.

Trinity Lutheran Children's Center at Houston and Washington near downtown. I have both of my kids there and love it! One kid is in PreK and the other is in the infant room. Open at 6, close at 6. Near town if something happens or you need to run to appt with them. They're building a new school and it looks like its going to be awesome. Both kids have learned sign language, some spanish and english of course. They have a good fun curriculum and lots of things that keep you involved. They're on Facebook so you can see them there and when you're enrolled they have a Flickr account and you can go and check out pics of your kids! Both of mine started there at 8 weeks and I haven't regretted a day of it! :) If you are interested, go take a peek and get more info from them. There is usually a pretty good waiting list for most daycare centers, so get on them if you find one you like. good luck!

Hi L.,
I am a Nanny from my home in Ponderosa Forest (1960/Ella). I have been a nanny for over 13 years and have wonderful refrences! I have been a nanny from my home for the past 4+ years and have really enjoyed it. I have a 7 year old, 5 year old, and a 19 month old (older 2 attend school from 8-3:15 M-F, very close (walking distance) to our home). I am currently caring for 2 other 19 month olds (one part time). One of the babies mothers is pregnant, due anytime, and is not returning to work. I am looking for another child to fill his spot. I was until recently also caring for another 3 year old since he was 6 weeks old. I will only be filling one space. We do many learning (age apropriate) activities, singing, dancing, ABC's, 123's, exploring in the yard, close by parks, and around the house. We have plenty of space for everyone to have thier own room and bed for naps (beds not shared with anyone else, ever!), and a lot of fun and educational toys. I look forward to doing art projects and activities as they get a little older. I will supply healthy meals and snacks while here (once table food ready) as well as fill out a daily report of your childs, meals (bottles), snacks, diaper changes, Trips to the potty when the time comes, and any notes (ie;he/she needs diapers, wipes...). Please let me know if this sounds like a good fit for your family.
Thanks so much
H. Killian
