You can call the grocery store you frequently go to and ask what time they unload their stock and could they please save you some boxes. They are usually pretty willing to do this if you show up at the time you agree on! S. D.
I am preparing to pack up my house to put it on the market. I have a ton of nick-nacks, toys and dishes that need to be put away to prepare the house. I live in the Alsip area and would be willing to drive up to 30 minutes away to get them. We are trying to get this done ASAP so our 8 year old will not have switch schools too late in the year.
Thanks for all that reply. By the way my house is adorable.

Although they are not technically "moving" boxes, try going to Jewel or Dominick's in the evening and ask for empty produce, dairy and other boxes. Good luck!
Check Craigslist.... that's where I always get mine!

I can get you boxes from work if you like, I work at a manufacturing plant. I will request boxes today for you. I live in the Hometown/Oak Lawn area.
Just let me know.

Hi! Office buildings almost always have big boxes laying around. Tenants order office supplies, furniture, computers etc. and it becomes the building's job to get rid of the boxes. They generally recycle them, but if someone comes knocking on their door looking to take them off their hands, they are usually happy to oblige. I used to manage office buildings, so I know! Try contacting the Office of the Building at some local office buildings and ask if they have any boxes you can take. : )

Try the UPS store, Mailboxes etc., Staples, Office Max, Office Depot, Fed Ex stores, also the post office.
Restuarants are a good place to start, as well as your larger stores Walmart, Kmart, etc. You can go in and just ask for them, although some places won't give them out.
You can look or post to craigslist. Many people post their boxes after they move. good Luck.
Good Luck with your move. I would call your local Jewel. The produce department has very strong boxes. Also, ask your local dollar store. They always have alot of boxes coming in. This is where I get my boxes everytime I move.
