Anyone Know a Good Psychologist

Sorry my thoughts are all over when you read this, but I feel like I am losing it. My husband works alot...I just recently had to get a part time job to help with some costs. I am the one who is mainly home with our son. Lately my little guy will not leave my side, even when dad is home. I can't even go to the bathroom by myself. My day has to start at 430a just so I can get some quiet time to enjoy a shower and a cup of coffee. My husband puts in sooo many hours that when he gets home his quality time with our little one is watching tv and having our son play on the floor by himself. I need someone to talk to because I feel like I am just going to explode. I am starting to think I need to be on some medication to help me control this. Any suggestions would help.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Sorry for posting soo late. Thanks for all the advise..... Doing much better. It is very hard when you don't have many friends to lean on. I did talk to someone and also was put on some meds for a slight case of depression.

I agree with the other response that it sounds like you need some down time with friends more than psychological help. Do you have girl friends to go out with? Do you have family that will pitch in and baby sit so you can go out and have some fun once in a while?

I think what you need is some company and some time out with the girls more than a psychologist. Do you have any family that can watch your son for an hour or 2 so you can go out and just sit in a coffee shop with a friend or go walk around the mall?

Hang in there,
Aarti.

Hi my best friend lost her job and her 8 year marriage within one week. She went into deep depression and no one could help her. Her mother got a recommendation from a doctor working for the city to visit and get treated by the psychologists at http://www.goodpsychologists.com/en/
Soon after my best friend started to get treated by these doctors she recovered and now she is very happy again. This makes me very happy, so I must to thank these doctors at http://www.goodpsychologists.com/en/ for helping my best friend.

Hi M., I am a licensed counselor in Schaumburg and I specialize in women's support. It sounds like you are caught in a very normal, but very overwhelming situation that so many women find themselves in - taking care of everyone else and never having time for yourself. This can lead to so many emotions that it can feel difficult to control it all. You can feel free to contact me directly at ____@____.com or visit our website at www.owenscounseling.com. I would be happy to help you in any way that I can to make your life feel more managable.

good for you seeking the help of a professional I'm a stay at home mother of three and I know how exhausting and stressful things can be
I just recently went to a girls night out bash where we talked over strawberry martinis, karaoke and even had reps with bath, beauty and naughty products
it might sound corny but it cured my cabin fever
at least til spring

Hang in there! My family was so difficult when I went back to work, I got angry. I decided I was going to work and they were going to adjust and if they were having a problem with that it was their problem. What you have to ask yourself is whether you want to be working or not. I read a book when my kids were little and I was struggling with the decision that said that the children were happy when Mom was happy. I stayed home for 10 years and only worked part time during that time. When I went back to work (and I would have liked to wait two more years), they made my life miserable for about two weeks, then realized it was just a change, not an ending.

My heart goes out to you. I have been there.

First, three year olds are difficult little things, aren't they? They can speak well and do a few things on their own, but they lack judgement and skills. Everyone I know with children older than three all agree that 3 is a tough age. They also PROMISE me that it gets better. Just know that this is a phase in life and, like any other phase, it WILL pass.

Second, Suzanne Sartore is GREAT. Her office is in Hoffman Estates. I don't know where you are, but I hope H.E. is within driving distance. Her number is ###-###-####. She gives excellent and PRACTICAL advice. She takes many different insurance plans.

Last, if you need a laugh, go to www.pacifiersandprada.blogspot.com. It's all about the stresses and strains of being a working parent. If it's a choice between laughing or crying, may as well laugh, eh?

Good luck to you. You're doing the right thing to ask for help.

Dr. John Goldin-Mertadogan at the Institute for Personal Development. They have two locations one in Romeoville and the other is in Morris. The Romeoville location is off of Weber Rd. & I-55. I am not sure where you are located but I really recommend these professionals! There is more than just one doctor there and some great female doctors if you prefer. Look them up under the Local Business Reviews on this website.
I wish you the best of luck and you are not alone!

I am a neuropsychologist so I don't do therapy but have many colleagues who do. Where do you live? I would be happy to provide you with a name. I applaud you for seeking help. You can also look at the Illinois Psychological Association to find a psychologist. I think the website is www.ipa.org
