P.D.
It doesn't inform them. However, if they know you are on FB and others you know are friends with them, etc. they might become suspicious. I wouldn't worry about it though. HTH.
For you savvy FaceBook users, here's a question. If you block someone from FaceBook, do they know it? Even if they are not friends with you? Does FB send them a message letting them know they've been blocked?
Thanks!

When you block someone on FB it's as if you have removed them completely from your universe and you're removed from theirs. You can't see anything they post, and they can't see anything you post. They can't see your profile or wall or anything else that is yours, and you can't see thiers. They can't send you messages at all.
To them, it's as if you completely disappeared.
So, if they put one and one together, they'll figure it out...but it's not like they can do anything about it.
So no worries.
EDIT: Whoops, forgot this part: No, no message is sent to tell them that you've blocked them. You just...disappear from their poopoo head world. ;o)
FB does not inform them.
Is this a person you do not want to see your status anymore, or are you just tired of all of their postings?
There is a way to "Hide" them.. That means they are still your "friend" but you will not get their updates or post unless they send it directly to your page. They will still be able to look all through your page.Even if you hide them. To do this.. Got to their name on a posting ~ to the right of their name is a little icon that looks like a star. Push on it and it will give you choices. Block, hide person, hide posts..
When people ask to friend me, I warn them that I post a lot all day long, so it is their choice. I usually let them know about the "hide" feature so I do not drive them around the bend.
No they have no idea they've been blocked, unless of course you "friended" them first and then later unfriended and blocked them. They'd probably figure that one out.
Just heard the answer to this question this week. No, people do not know when you've blocked them nor do they know when you 'unfriend' them unless they see that you are not on their list..who has time to 'count friends' on FB????? :-)
My teenage cousin unfriended me on FB...I told her mom she should watch her mouth considering she is friends w/ our entire huge family.
I didn't figure it out for several months.
Oh well.
At least I don't have to read her trash. ;)
But why would you block me?! tehehe
Oh, that's right, we're NOT FB friends, sigh. :(
(If said blocked person then goes to your profile, they will no longer be able to see anything, so, yeah, that'll tip them off. Why not just unfriend them? They won't know that either unless they go looking for you. Often times, FB gets weird and friends disappear anyway, so you could just say FB did it!)
:)
Not unless they figure it out by searching for you specifically, I think.
No.
No!
I'm pretty sure it doesn't.
Hi Dawn. I don't think fb messages someone if you block them. however, if that person has been in contact with you and all of the sudden cannot access your page, they may or may not realize that 'something is up' so to speak. does that make sense?
Hope this helps.
jilly
no not unless they go looking to see if you are still on thier friends list
Kinda passive aggressive to unfriend a real friend without telling them why in person.
