Anniversary Gift - Cherryville,MO

We always go for the "traditional" gift for that year. This year was iron and we really needed a new knife set so we adjusted a bit and got ourselves a nice steel knife set. I mean iron is kind of hard! :) For leather I got him a leather picture frame for his office with a pic of the kids and he got me some shoes. We don't do a ton and the traditional gift makes it kind of fun, funky, and fairly inexpensive. Although for wood, we did decide to go to Florida and give the whole family wood in the shape of palm trees! I think ultimately just being together would be nice and if you can swing an overnight without kids, even at home, go for it!

I'm also a SAHM, so buying him a gift would be his $. Usually, a sweet card, dinner out, and some bedroom time is all we do.

my husband's all time favorite gift was a gift certificate to a no-tell hotel with a gel-bed and lots of mirror for a few hours. I gave it to him in a box with a red & black flimsy negligee in my size. We got chinese food, a bottle of wine and spent the evening there. He still talks about it fondly.

I on the other hand would much rather have a overnight away from all of the them. ;o)

We really don't get eachother anything for anniversary (i am a SAHM so i feel that anything i get for him would be spending his money and he feels the same way) so we just go out to dinner. Oh,.before i stopped working i found online an old John Wayne movie poster (original) and i got him that. he loves john wayne so he liked it a lot.

A couples massage at a local spa... really nice lunch afterward complete with wine and dessert!

I think one of his favorites was a little bag filled with 2 different bottles of massage oil - I tied free massage coupons to them. And also a small tub of really good lotion with a free foot massage coupon taped on the top!

His favorites for any occassion are new CDs, a film he wants, or book. Some years our "gift" is just getting to go out without kids.

Pretty much any occassion (birthday, Christmas, Father's Day, anniversary) he directs me to his Amazon.com wishlist. One year we bought a new television since we'd never done that and I told him for our 25th I wanted us to buy our headstones as a "gift." :)
