Have you considered a foster-to adopt program? That is what my sisters are being trained for right now and they help you through the process.
Hello Mamas,
my husband and I adopted 6 years ago and it was the best thing we've ever done. Now we'd like to do it again (actually wanted to several years ago but the cost is tremendous) wondering if anyone out there knows of grants or organizations that help with the financial costs of adoption? We were shocked to learn that the place we adopted from the first time actually raised their prices--we kind of thought with the current economic situation the price might actually be more affordable. Boy were we wrong.
We can easily afford another child and that is not the problem. The problem is the $20- 30,000 you have to give these places just to get on the list to hopefully get picked. I don't understand how the costs could be so extreme and I feel bad for people that want children as badly as we do that just don't have the $ to do it even once. I am hoping someone knows of an organization or something as we would like to adopt at least one or two more children.

I had a friend that fund raised herself through arbonne selling lip glosses. she was able to sell a lot because so many moms bought from her. she didn't raise all the money need for her adoption but it helped out a lot.
I second the foster responce... so many children are in the foster program & a lot of them are foster-to-adopt. We are hoping to foster children later on, but currently have a house full of our own. But I can not have anymore do to health issues w/ my last 2 & I would have tons more if I could... so I am hoping to open my doors to the kids once they will let me, but I think they have a max child limit.
There are some good ideas/links on these pages:

Also, if you are involved in a faith community you might want to do some online searching for grants/loans specific to your religion-some agencies/organizations offer this.
As someone else mentioned, foster care might be a good option. I'm not sure about in your state, but in my state you can sign up to be "concurrent home," which means that you are fostering with the specific intention to adopt, and so they place children with you who are more likely to become available to adopt.
Good luck!
Is there a Catholic Charities in your area? They might have more affordable fees?
I really also believe in the foster program. I know several people who have fostered children and many have adopted those same children.
I know everyone wants babies but there are kids (non toddlers) out there who really need homes too.
We plan on fostering in the future.
well someone just above you is practically giving a kid away on this site, check it out! tell us if its bogus or not.
