Addicted to Mamapedia - Brandenburg,KY

Is anyone else addicted to this whole mamapedia thing? I am. I can't seem to get away from my computer when my baby girl is napping. LOL. It puts me at ease to know that there are more mothers out there that stay at home like me. Sometimes i feel like i just need to have a conversation that doesn't consist of me talking in a high pitch voice with goofy grins on my face. :)

What can I do next?

If I don't stop, I am going to get fired!!!!! It's negatively affecting my work. I'd say that's an addiction.

Its refreshing to see other stay at home moms (and working mamas too) having the same issues, questions, and life experiences as me. For some reason it's SOOOO hard for me and my amazing husband to find friends our age (24 and 30 respectively) that enjoy and value the things we do. These are my only conversations that aren't directed at a 2 year old!

I am. I keep it open and will check it periodically. If i sit down and ask a question I will stay on to see advice right away. Or if there is a point in the day that I have a sleeping child I will spend sometime answering questions. I also can sit out side and be with my kids but on computer. It is horrible. I like it though. Nope I LOVE IT!! Alot of the mama's on here I wish I could meet in person. Everyone is so different yet when band together on this site we all seem so alike.

Your not the only one. I'm the worst. I have the internet on my phone and I have mamapedia saved on my favorites, so it only takes seconds to log on. LOL. I'm gonna miss you girls when I get back to work. :)

Yes, in fact I need to turn off my computer now. As soon as I read a few more questions. Just a few more.... :-)

I asked a similar question a few weeks ago, "How much time do you spend on Mamapedia?" and I got a lot of great answers that cracked me up (I was just glad to know I wasn't the only one a little addicted to this website).

I became addicted awhile back. I swear it was consuming me!! I gave it up for Lent and now only allow myself to check it no more than 2x daily and for S. periods of time.

I am addicted in the sense that I check it every night. I enjoy getting suggestions and advice and giving advice. I think it is a great forum for opinions but it is also a great place to get answers that you can't get anywhere else. ;o)

Not lately, but yes, I've been addicted. For me it was about feeling in touch with other humans and to go a little brain dead for escape. A little escape is healthy. But one day the comp. was down and I got so much house work done, I realized I needed to give it a rest. I suggest you turn your computer off for one whole day. I think it will help you realize what a time waister it is. You all ready know its a time waister logically. But when you see what you accomplish with no computer in a single day you'll realize you are robbing your family (or employer) by spending too much time on the computer. Wow, I didn't intend to lecture. Just saying, been there, done that.

I work from home, and whenever my computer is caching the work emails, I'm on here. It's awful ;) Yes, I too am an addict!
