Hi everyone... my sister is in the hospital about to deliver & she still hasn't came up with a middle name for her baby. We don't know what the sex is so do any of you have any suggestions for a Middle name (w/ meaning) that flows with:
Bishop _______ (M) and/or Brooklyn _______(F)? Thanx for your suggestions.
UPDATE: Okay I tried to edit the What Happened Section but after numerous tries, I decided to just type it here....
They have decided to name her "BROOKLYN LEILA"....she is so precious & beautiful (as they all are)...Thank you all for all the wonderful suggestions...Believe me we considered all of them!
First I'd like to thank all of you that responded! We needed all of your suggestions and believe me you all helped!!! Mamasource is such a great place!
I am a new Auntie to a baby GIRL!!! Yaaay! I ran all the names down to my sister & her husband and it is a tie between ROSE & DAWN! So I will let you know what they decided when she finally puts in print........Thanks again!

What about keeping it in the family such as same middle names of favorite Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents. My daughter happen to be born on the same day as my Aunt, I was already set on a first name, Julieanne, that we decided to give her my Aunt's middle name, Cecilia.

Well, I named my daughter Dilyn (for a boy it would be Dylan)...so the boy version might work for Bishop DYLAN. I also like Brooklyn DAYLE (pronounced Dale) for a girl. A new baby is such a blessing! Congrats, Auntie!

I liked Brooklyn Rose - to stay with the flower theme what about:
Brooklyn Daisy
Brooklyn Dalia
Personally, I took a mythological name for my daughter, Bennu, The Bennu bird was the bird that flew over the waters of creation and the call separated what was to be from what was not to be. It's also related to the Phoenix myth.
I love mythological names because the myths are rich with symbolism.
I liked
Bishop Roan or Arawn (pronounced Roan) from Welsh mythology
or
Bishop Orion - what a beautiful constellation, he'll see himself in the night sky.
and for girls
Brooklyn Aurora (roman goddess of the dawn)
or
Brooklyn Thalia (one of the three graces from Greek mythology, the Muse of Comedy)
and a great standby:
Brooklyn Grace
My best wishes on a healthy happy baby!

I like Shane for either.
For a girl it is an Irish form of Shana, which means God is gracious in Hebrew and Irish.
For a boy it's a familiar of Sean and means the same thing.
Tell your sister congrats and good luck!

Hey J.,
I love the name Brooklyn for a girl, that is what I was going to name my daughter if I had a girl. Any way, try and encourage your sister to use her middle name or your mothers middle name for Brooklyn and the fathers middle name, or grandfathers middle name for Bishop.
My husbands family does not give Jr. names, so that is one of the ways we were able to keep family names with the new children.

A neat middle name for a child is the husbands first or middle name or the wifes first or middle name for the child's middle name. If not those then, Scott and Rae would sound nice with those names. Since they are multiple syllables one syllable names would be good for the middle name. Hope this helps.
