this is such a dumb request and i apologize, but i just need to know which is a good "parenting" magazine to subscribe to. i subscribed to "cookie" and i have to say that it is so not my type of magazine .. so i don't want to make the same mistake again and waste my money. any suggestions out there?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

so i went with parenting. the only thing i could find in my research of the magazine was that it was not "dad" friendly; which is not a problem with me :) i really want to also subscribe to "mothering" as it really looks like something i would like; but one magazine subscription at a time; i always have to watch the fun budget of mine! thanks to all for your suggestions! they really helped.

Ha Ha! My Grandma bought me a free subscription to Cookie, and I know exactly what you mean! I like "Parenting" magazine. It has a lot of diverse articles & I usually enjoy each issue. I don't like "Parents" because it is always full of horror stories & makes me want to wrap my children in bubble wrap & never leave the house!

Good luck,
C.

PS What about looking in Torrance? My dad just bought there after renting in Hermosa because it was close enough that he wouldn't have to make too many big life changes.

Baby Talk offers free subscriptions to pregnant and new moms. It's a subsidiary of Parenting Magazine, which is also good. Give it a try, it's free!

I've really liked Parenting Magazine, I've subscribed to them for about 8 years now. For the local side, a great free magazine is LA Parent Magazine. It has wonderful articles and has local advertisers so it's a terrific resource too.

I love Parenting. My mom bought me the subscription when I was pregnant (3 years ago) and I have kept every copy. There is stuff in there for each age group, so as your baby grows you can get new info out of the same old magazine.

Hey Leslie,

Maybe you should buy a few parenting magazines at the store to find out what parenting magazine suits you. I really enjoyed Cookie, so it's hard to suggest a magazine that you may like when everyone's tastes are different. I really enjoyed Parent Magazine as well. But if you're looking for fun things to do with your kids, I would suggest Family Fun Magazine. It really depends on what you're looking for.

Have fun shopping! I love magazines!

Hi Leslie,

I'm not responding to the question on a good parenting magazine, but to your comment on wanting to buy something. I'm involved in a new mortgage product coming out of Australia where it has been for 17 years. You will pay off your mortgage in half or less time and put yourself in the driver's seat with your finances. My mom was a single mom and I know her struggles financially. We have had this loan for 3 months now and it is turning our financial picture around. Please check out www.seemee4loans.com and www.repco.info. This is a whole paradigm shift in how we own property. Please call me with questions or comments. ###-###-####.

P.S. I live and have my business in Simi Valley which is just over the hill from Granada Hills.
