T.Y.
With my son I made him start wiping himself and I would check him when he was done. This worked because he wanted to get back to playing and I wouldn't let him get up until he wiped and I checked. We also bought those flushable wipes and put stickers on the container to make it easier and more fun for him. TP is so hard to use at that young age. He would start with the TP and finish with the wipes to get what he missed. When he did a great job I would tell him how great he did, this boosted his confidence and before you knew it he was ready to do it all by himself. There are so many things that children can do on their own if we would just show them that they can do it.
On another note, you should talk to someone about your depression. You shouldn't ignore it. Some things that may help are a healthy diet, exercise, support from other moms, join a mom's group, etc. There are many moms groups in the area for you to get out and meet other moms, it helps so much to have someone to talk to. Also, there are programs like Baby Boot Camp that allow you to bring your baby, meet other moms, exercise, get healthy and just feel better about yourself. You can check it out at www.babybootcamp.com. Whatever you do, find someone to talk to.
