What about a spa day?
Hey moms!
I would like to surprise my younger sister for her 30th birthday and I am stumped on ideas. She lives in Dallas and so far all I have is surprising her with our family there for dinner out. I want to do something more for her because she is the sweetest person I know and she is always doing for everyone else. She is quiet and probably wouldn't enjoy a crazy night out but I wanted to do something else fun. Does anyone have any ideas for this and/or a great gift for her?? Thank you so much!
What about a spa day?
What about getting her a special cake tying into an interests or hobbies? I'm having one done for my husband's 40th with a Grateful Dead theme. Found someone locally who makes fancy cakes similar to shows like Cake Boss. He's not into big parties, but I know he'd be touched by a really cool cake that reflects his interests.
Is she into plays, symphonies or musicals? You could take her to something playing locally.
You could also pick something really random but fun like going bowling or go-kart racing (if they have that there). Something that might take her out of her comfort zone.
Maybe all the family could pitch in and she could go on a crazy shopping spree with you! Clothes, shoes, things for the house...whatever she wants!
That would be fun...do you have great memories shopping with your sister at the mall...trying on all the crazy hats. etc?!
The spa day also sounds great...a mani/pedi, waxing, facial, and message...sounds fantastic!
just pick a theme and run with it. examples:
I turned 30 on my birthday, May 30th and had a Golden Birthday party. Everything gold: balloons, dress, accessories, and invited everyone else to wear gold. (my step dad wore 3 gold rings at once. He looked like a NY gangster.) It was at my little house and not many people wore gold, but it was still fun. I borrowed a chocolate fundu fountain from a friend and had marshmallows, pretzels, and strawberries to dip in it. We played Catch Phrase and then karaoke later to my karaoke machine at home. Everyone had a blast!
You could have a game night - everyone bring their favorite game and pick which one would be the funnest - pictionary, scattergories, catch phrase (my favorite).
You could even do a dance night. Get on the internet and go to Yahoo Music and click on Dance Music or Country Music or use your sisters favorite CD's . Have everyone dress to theme and have a dance party.
