Ideas for Games or Activites for My 7 Year Old Daughters High School Musical Par

We played a game for my 8 year old's birthday party that the kids loved and could easily be adapted for any kind of party. Put several High School Musical related words on little pieces of paper in a bowl. One child picks a word, but doesn't get to see it. The word gets taped to their forehead and the rest of the kids give clues to what the word is and the one who's "it" has to guess. Once they get it right, they get to choose who goes next. The kids really had fun with this and didn't care that it wasn't a win-lose kind of game. You could also play Hot Potato and when the music stops, the kid holding the "potato" has to sing a lyric from a HSM song. Hope these help!

Take two sets of clothing fairly large as they will have to go over thier cloths. and have two teams Part on one end and part of each team on the other end and race to go down put on cloths come back and give cloths to next in line. Kids seem to really enjoy this.

Do you have the CD's? Musical chairs to HS Musical music would be fun. Hot potato with anything from HSM would work (cut out a giant T, use a basketball, make a music note) Instead of pin the tail on the donkey draw a big basketball goal and make paper balls, follow pin the tail on the donkey rules and whoever has their ball closest to the hoop wins. Pick a song and see who knows the nost words. This is all I can come up with at the moment, hope it helps, if I think of more I'll let you know.

Scavenger hunts are always fun. You could print out HSM pictures from Disney.com and cut them out and place them around the house and back yard. Then give them clues to find each one. When they have all the main cast members their team gets a prize. You could have different level of prizes for each group. Three groups would be something like a Candy Bar for 1st, Small candy bar (like from halloween) for 2nd and a starburst for 3rd. That way everyone gets something for their effort. Not really expensive and it usually takes anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes depending on how easy you make their clues. I've done this many times with my girls' parties and the kids love it. Have fun!

Do you know anyone with a Karaoke (sp) machine? The kids love to sing and dance to the tunes. Show the movie. Make pom pom pins using colored tape and I am not sure what it is called but the shredded stuff you put in gift bags. You can find the instructions on makingfriends.com under swaps. you can also use fun foam and make small pin cell phones for them to wear. This is a little more expensive but at craft stores you can buy small totes and boas have the girls Hot glue boas to the tote and they can stamp designs or use permanent markers to draw designs.

Have a talent show and the best act gets a prize. They can pick their favorite song from HSM. Or you can do a trivia game with questions about HSM, and winner gets a prize. You can go to a dollar store to get the prizes.(I am a single mom too, dollar store is great!!!)

Do you know anyone with a karaoke machine? You could let the kids "audition" for the HSM, even using songs from the show. Seven year olds probably know all the words by heart. So create a little stage and let them entertain themselves. I am sure they would all like a chance for the spotlight.

HSH dvd board game is very fun to play together as a group. They can help each other out, as teams, to answer the questions. Plus it makes a great gift.

At one of my daughter's friend's parties, they did karoke and sang and danced to music. Maybe you could tell the girls they are going to pretend to be on the cast of HSM and have them sing and dance to HSM songs. They also turned down the lights and had one of those cheap light ball that moved on the ground which the kids really liked. Just a quick, cheap idea.

Hi, K.! We just had a HSM/Almost Sleepover for my 8yo. We had the girls arrive in their pj's and bring sleeping bags. We served pizza, painted their toes, played "act out this dream" game and hot potato, made a craft that I had bought from Oriental Trading, did presents, had an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen in which they wrote for me "We're all in this together, Happy 8th Birthday", and then for the grand finale, they spread out their sleeping bags and watched HSM2 until their parents came to get them. For goodie bags, I sent each girl home with a packet of instant oatmeal, hot cocoa, an orange, an individual box of dry cereal (this was to be their breakfast the next morning at their house), and some inexpensive HSM party favors I bought at Wal-Mart in the party aisle. It was a really fun party and really not too expensive, especially when you compare it to having a party outside of the home. The most memorable part of the party was when 10+ girls were all singing "What Time Is It?" along with the movie. I got it on video - priceless:-) Hope this helps and good luck!

Disney trivia is a real hit with my kids parties. Most kids have seen just about all the disney movies and can get the answers. I have also played the one with the DVD at a young adults party and it's really neat but a little harder than the regular one. Twister is also a fun party game. Maybe learn the high school musical dance at the end of the movie and have them do that along with the movie. Karaoke might be fun too as girls this age usually like to sing.

We had a HSM party for my 8yr old at home and the kids loved it. We played the movie while everyone was arriving, ate pizza and cake and sang karaoke right before the party was ending. One idea that no one mentioned yet.....from a party/carnival supply store, I got a dozen plastic "echo" microphones. (They were about $1 each.) I also got a box of those foam stickers. They spent about 20-30 minutes decorating their microphones. It was a great craft time and they could take them home as an inexpensive party favor. Have fun!

It always seemed we were doing something just of that sort. I have 3 children. This may be a bit out of the box but maybe they could dress in 50's clothing and create their own musical. Then you could have floats, sundae's etc. for treats.

My 6 year old also had a HSM party this year...it was a huge hit (all of her gifts were HSM presents so it really stuck to the theme of things)! A great game would be to sing Kareoke or even guess the song, or even better play part of a song and stop it every so often like hot potato and have the person holding the "hot potato" instead of being out has to sing the next line to the song they were listening to...every kid knows each and every word to all of the songs if they are as obsessed with HSM as my daughter is!

Hi there, I have a 10 year old girl who had a HSM party last year for her birthday. We bought a karaoke CD for them to sing with and also let them play with the dance mat. I bet if you did not have one of these things you might be able to borrow from someone for the party. Hope that helps.

I know that I have seen beofre High School musical quizes. I am sure that you can find one online or even make up your own questions. You could maybe even divide them into teams and do some kinda like game show or something!

You can try things like letting them sing, dance, dress up or have girl time...paint their nails play in make-up. Have a panel of judges & reward them with journals/diaries, stationary & pen sets. You can get all of this at the dollar store. Give them stickers & maybe little gift bags with a body wash & spray. Play games that they can act out, bingo for those types of prizes I lisred above & maybe have a movie night with pop corn (help them pop it), bottled water with those singles & a pajama ending. Those are just a few suggestions for you. I've seen where some have a spa night as well ( I do Mary Kay) & was asked to come & do a little spa stuff like mani/pedicures with my product & they just loved it. The parents just loved it & the product that they bought nail polish & Satin Hand sets that can be used for feet as well...it was called "Peach Smoothie" night & yes the Mom made the smoothies:-).
