14 Week Old Sleeping

My 14 week sleeps through the night....9 pm to 6 with no feedings. During the day, she sleeps a lot, too. Almost every 2 hours of awake time then she is crying to go back to sleep and will sleep for 1-2 hours (shorter if we are out and she is in her car seat, etc). She is very alert when she is awake and has two siblings that are always playing with her and entertaining her....does anyone think this is too much? I do not want to complain since she is such a great sleeper...maybe I am just used to my other two which were not great sleepers.....thoughts?

What can I do next?

Thanks everyone...she is a great sleeper and loved to sleep. I will take it as that and not worry! :)

NO! It is NOT too much. Babies NEED sleep!! They grow and develop while they sleep. Anyone on Mamapedia who has any issues with sleep, I recommend the book HEALTHY SLEEP HABITS, HAPPY CHILD by Marc Weissbluth. GET IT, read it, and follow it! It has been the ONLY book that I keep turning to and my son is 2. I consider it my bible!! At 14 weeks, your baby sounds right on track with only being awake a couple hours. So many parents keep their baby awake and that leads them to being OVERTIRED which, contrary to popular belief, makes it HARDER for baby to fall/stay asleep. Your baby is sleeping through the night because she is getting enough sleep through the day! It sounds backwards, but it is not :-) Young babies can only handle so much awake time/stimulation. They are only teeny tiny and their body is doing so much work to grow and develop. They need their rest. :-) Don't keep a baby awake because you don't think they need more sleep. If baby is tired, let them sleep!

You are blessed to have such a good sleeper. My daughter was like that, started sleeping through the night at 10 weeks when she found her thumb and then 12 hrs a night at 12 weeks. My boys - that's another story. Babies need a lot of sleep and shouldn't be awake for more than 2 hrs at a time at that age. Sounds like you got yourself a little angel!

She sounds like a little angel :)

I don't think you have anything to worry about. Babies need a lot of sleep. My oldest was much like her and he (at 8) is still a very good sleeper.
