Hi N., Sounds good. I hope you are. Stay calm and wait it out. Let us know. Lots of happiness, Grandma Mary
I was wondering if anyone can tell me what early signs they might have noticed that gave them a hint that they were pregnant. My period isn't due for a few days. My breats are sore, my temp is staying elevated so far, I'm extremely emotional and bloated... all symptoms of pms but we've been trying so I'm hoping that it means we're pregnant!

Bloated and tired, very tired..........good luck. When you are trying it is such a feeling of accomplishment when you finally are!!!
Try a First Response pregnancy test, which you can get at any drugstore or Target, Wal-Mart, etc. It says on the package that this brand lets you know sooner than any other. I used it to find out I was pregnant with my baby 2-3 days before my period was due. Good luck!
For me it was clumsiness.
I began to drop everything I touched both times I was pregnant and I got those awful headaches during the first trimester.(both times)
I remember having extreme fatigue, so much so that I had to take a nap in the middle of the afternoon, and I never slept during the day.
Before I knew I was pregnant with my first I was soooo tired that I took naps after I got home from work. I also got really hungry and had to eat my lunch early everyday. And I had to pee all the time. I knew I was pregnant with my second before I took the pregnancy test because of the same symptoms.
Good luck!
Hi N.,
Well I am the wrong person to give you hints because I was 17 weeks pregnant before I even knew. But now that I know the signs next time around I hopefully will know sooner than 4 months. Are you tired? Trouble sleeping? Nipples sore? Swelling breast? Bloody nose? hungrier? These are all signs. You can also take a test the will help you 5 days before your period is due.
Good luck!

my breasts were sore and felt bigger. it was different than when my period comes but im not sure how, just different. good luck!!!
I had a really upset stomach for a few days, but that was about it. GOOD LUCK!
I'm in the same boat. We're trying for number two and for the life of me, I can't remember if I had any early signs the first time. I keep checking myself out in the mirror. It's funny. Yes, all the things you have are symptoms of pregnancy, but they can also be symptomatic of your period. I think the EPT test that says the words "pregnant" and "not pregnant" is by far the most accurate and if you're a day or two away from your period, you could take it. however, you may have ovulated late, in which case your period won't arrive and the test won't be positive either. This happened to me. It didn't turn positive until almost TWO weeks after my period was supposed to come and I did blood tests too. It's crazy. I wish there was a magical way of knowing, but to be honest, you just have to wait to see if your period comes. Take a few tests, but know they're not always accurate either. Good luck!
My boobs hurt if the wind blew on them too hard. LOL!
Hi N.. With both of my pregnancies, I was nauseous from the beginning, even before my period was actually due. You can take a test up to 5 days before your expected period. I took a test 3 days early with my son and one 5 days early with my daughter. I took it early with my daughter because I was watching a commercial last year the night before Thanksgiving and the women in the commercial was stuffing a turkey and I got very queasy. I then thought about it and that entire week I was nauseous every day. My breasts also were sore and seemed slightly larger. Everyone is different so there really are no right or wrong symptoms. I wish you the best of luck.
sore boobs and i was IMMEDIATELY disgusted by raw meat! :)
I normally have a bladder of steel and when I got pregnant, I noticed almost immediately that I had to go more often. That was my big clue. :) HTH
Those do all seem like signs of pregnancy. My nipples were a bit sore but not too much but what really stood out for me was cramping in my pelvis that didn't stop. If your period is a few days away, you can actually take a pregnancy test now (they detect up to 5 days before your missed period). Good luck and God Bless!
Hi N., You can tell how much women like to talk about their pregnancies by the number of responses you have already received! Anyway, the breast tenderness, assuming it is pretty intense, and particularly if you don't ordinarily have breast tenderness before your period, or if the tenderness that you do have isn't very noticeable, is a pretty robust sign of pregnancy. Also, if you have any unusual food cravings, or foods that you suddenly have an aversion to, that is also a common sign of pregnancy. For me it was craving eggs, cheese, cheeseburgers, toast, V-8, and olives(!) On the aversion side, my morning coffee suddenly seemed toxic. I conceived on the 7th of the month, and started with the breast tenderness and the food aversions and an unusual fatigue somewhere around the 25th of the month. I hope you're pregnant!
Hey N.,
Though I didn't know at the time, my early signs were cramping like I was supposed to get my period but it never came. I was CRAZY THIRSTY!!! I couldn't sleep at night because I was so thirsty. I had to sit on the couch for hours at night drink bottle after bottle of water. Also, I was really tired and cold. I also found out that the reason mosquitos would not leave me alone is because pregnant blood is sweeter than regular and mosquitos prefer it. I hope this helps...good luck!!
M.
Though I loved taking steaming hot showers, the heat made me feel faint. Also, I was unable to stay awake during most car/train rides. Good luck!
feeling light-headed or faint....good luck...
Hi N.,
One big indicator was that I could no longer enjoy the taste of Coffee!!! Another was that I had gotten a super hero sense of smell which was a bad thing as the summer months approached and grilling meat smells made me super sick. My poor husband did not get meat cooked for the first 16 weeks or so. Also I believe that on the day of implantation I knew as my breast got hot and tingled and they never did that ever before and never again since and I thought that it was odd, but we were trying and counted the days and it made sense to me. Hope you have good news soon!!! Keep us posted.
=o) E. R
My first clue with # 2 and # 3 was my sense of smell...my husband always kidded me by saying I could smell a mouse fart! With #1 - I had no clue...I think I took 5 tests before I believed it could be true!
N. dahling,
I was soooo sure it was just PMS (and we had been trying for over a year) that I had a glass of white wine the nite before the preg test. So my PMS is 8 years old next month!!! I felt like there was a bit more "pressure" then usual at my uterus, but you don't know until you see the double blue line or the call from the doctor's office telling you to treat yourself like you are a fine crystal vase--delicately and with great care. So just enjoy the suspense, but skip the white wine.
Unfortionatly the signs of PMS and pregnancy are mostly the same. However, the good news is that there are pregnancy tests out on the market that let you test days before your next period is due. You might want to try one of those but be warned if it is negative and your period doesn't arrive you may still be pregnant. Also there is a small percentage that the home peet ests don't work for. My friend for whatever reason is in that 1% that a "pee" test does not work on AT ALL!! If your period still doesn't arrive go see your doctor for a blood test! Hope it's positive!!! A.
it was in early april, 2007 when my coworker noticed i was a little thicker in the middle (hereditary!). and i was extremely nauseous in our car after any meal for like a week. april 14th of last year is when i took the test and it came out positive!
With my first 2 pregnancies my husband told me I was pregnant before I even realized my period was late. I had a major attitude change, and was bitchy about everything. With my next 2 I don't remember because they didn't end well. With #5 I had a pink spot on the paper when I wiped, and then realized I was supposed to start that day. And with this last one I was simply 5 days late, took a test and there you have it. All the signs you are talking about came a bit later for me.
Good luck!!!
Hi N.,
The symptons as I'm sure you are reading differ from one person to the other....which I know can be annoying because all you want to do is find new things to confirm your suspicions! I actually had no symptons.... which was weird because I had gotten off the pill and every month until we concieved I had the usual pms/pg symptons which are very similar.... But I found out I was pg when i took the test ..otherwise I would never have known.... My breasts didn't hurt, I wasn't really that emotional, not really bloated... I just thought I was having a longer cycle because I didn't feel anything. One sympton that I did feel shortly after I knew I was pregnant were menstrual cramps.. that sympton of pg is true. I ddn't belive it when I read it on the internet but I had light cramps ... Still pregnant and no other pregnant symptons...my breast have yet to hurt! I hope you find this helpful and good luck.... PS. I was trying for a while and the month we stopped doing the ovulation tests/tempature recording... we concieved.
Very tired, feels like you are getting your period any minute now. Good luck N.
Well N... It sounds to me! The sore breasts were my indication. You can take an at home pregnancy test. One of them detects it very early.
Good Luck. I hope you are!
D.
i have been pregnant twice and both times i had nausea at the time of conception for a day. then i had a nearly constant, low-grade headache that persisted throughout my pregnancy (i sometimes took tylenol for it). i also felt implantation... had a bit of cramping both times and one time i had spotting. when i took a home pregnancy test prior to my period due date, i had a faint line in the positive window. i tested again the day my period was due and it was bold and bright. best of luck to you and your husband!
Hi N., This is my second pregnancy and I was sort of taken off guard both times. I didn't feel how I thought I would feel pregnant. First time the most stand out symptom was fatigue for me. I just couldn't keep my eyes open. I'd fall asleep on the couch after dinner. I'd fall asleep in the car, on the train into work, etc. I said that I felt like someone unplugged me. That was my first. As the pregancy went on,in the early days, I was gassy (not fun), really hungry and urgently, very tender breasts and I retained fluids. This time I've just been tired so far, and a little queasy...oh, and I had implantation spotting...oh, and in both cases my hair stopped coming out in the shower, got thick, smooth and shiney feeling. In both cases my temps did NOT look like the charts said it would/should. Honestly, I'm not sure there really is any way "to tell." Because it is pregnancy or PMS. My husband actually could tell both times. He thought I looked different. Softer around the edges.
N.,
Sore breasts were also my first indication. I couln't figure out what was wrong with me, I wasn't expecting to be pregnant. I waited one week after I missed my period to take the test and before I could get the cover back on the wand to wait 3 minutes, the indicator just about screamed "PREGNANT"!
I don't know if its too soon for you to take a pregnancy test yet, but what great news that would be on Mother's Day! Good Luck! Let us all know what happened.
keep taking your temp. if it stays elevated, you're good to go! (that's how i knew both times...it will tell you before a test will tell you!).
N.,
Are these symptoms that you would ususlly get when you got your period? If not, then most likely you are. When i was pregnant i got sore breasts and i used to never get that so i knew something was up. Take an ept test. They really work. I found out two weeks after the day i concieved. Good luck and let us know the out come.
Hi, I could smell everything - good or bad- from a mile. And if it is about 5 days or so to your period they have those pregnancy tests that will tell you earlier. I think they are called First Respone or something.
Good luck.
When I went food shopping I bought a pound of a creamy cheese called fromage affinois. I was planning on us having it with our salad that night but when I got home I didn't even unpack the rest of the groceries, I ate the whole thing with a spoon. I thought, "What was THAT all about?!" I was so embarrased I didn't tell my husband but found out later that week I was pregnant. I also got cramps (implantation cramping) and that's when I knew for sure that I was pregnant because I don't get menstrual cramps, just low back ache.
I remember how exciting it was to be trying. Don't get too disapointed if you aren't pregnant; you only have a 25% chance per cycle. It took us 6 months. Best of luck!
Hunger!!! Sore breasts and immediately I was hungry :) I was finishing my husbands food, before he was done! And I am not a big eater...
There are tests that you can get at the drugstore that work even before your period is due. Read the lables, because it will say how soon you can test. Good luck!
With my first baby I knew that I was pregnant almost immediately because of sore breasts, though I didn't actually believe it til I saw the positive pregnancy test! Also, I just "felt" different. However, I did find I lost that ability to trust my instincts because we had a lot of difficulty getting pregnant the second time. I kept on thinking I had the signs then it never was! Also, I think if you really want to be pregnant you can think you find the signs in yourself as you are looking so hard. With my second I really didn't know til my period was really late and I (eventually) got a positive pregnancy test. Although a lot of pg test kits say you can test even before your period is due, I think it is worth waiting, as with my second pg I got 2 negative tests first and didn't get a positive result until I was nearly a week late with my period. I now have 2 lovely daughters, but that trying to get pregnant is some rollercoaster! Good luck!
Hi N., For me, my breast where sore and my nipples felt hard. So when I finally took the test it was no surprise to find out I was pregnant. Good Luck to you!!!
