My first initial signs of pregnancy were always a feeling of fullness in my lower gut as well as fatigue. Good luck, I know it's hard to be patient but it'll happen eventually.
Hi Mamas! We are currently trying for our first baby, and of course I know general pregnancy symptoms, but I was curious as to how early some of you started to experience symptoms. IF I am pregnant, it would only be about two weeks post conception, so I figure it's too early to have any signs, but things never seem to go by the book! I've been having some cramping feelings in my lower abdomen, and I've been a little nauseous today, which is pretty uncommon for me. Anyway, I would love to hear any input you all have on this. Thanks so much in advance!
My first initial signs of pregnancy were always a feeling of fullness in my lower gut as well as fatigue. Good luck, I know it's hard to be patient but it'll happen eventually.
About a week after we tried, I got some cramping, and I found out that's the fertilized egg implanting in the uterus. I also got sore breasts before I even found out I was pregnant. Good luck!
about the time my period would have started (2 weeks post conception for me), i noticed my boobs bigger and sore. i also had implantation blood a little less than a week before that. nausea did not start until about 8 weeks (6 weeks post conception). i never had cramping, although with my first i had bleeding at 10 weeks, too (everything was okay). good luck!
I'm not sure about the cramping, but you could definitely feel nauseous at 2 weeks. What about your boobs? Sore? And the crippling fatigue will set in shortly after.
As far as taking a test...you are much more apt to get false negative, then a false positive. I got THREE negative tests. I kept thinking I was having the worst PMS of my life. I would go and rub up against my female co-workers who had their periods, hoping to get some of their moon energy transferred to me! Wacky, but I was desperate...LOL! Then finally a fourth home test at 8 weeks was positive. If you get a positive result, no reason to take 10 more....it's like 99% accurate!
Good wishes for you!!!
Naturally, everybody is different, so you'll just have to wait and see! For me, my boobs gave it away before the pregnancy tests. Good luck, it's an awesome ride!
Two weeks post conception should put you right about when you would start your period, right?
Both times I was preggo I would get raging PMS for 2 days after my normal period day. I mean like Raging PMS! And I felt very bloated and my boobs no longer fit in my bra. I wanted to rip people's heads off for no reason. With my first pregnancy I was still taking Masters Degree classes. I remember distinctly wanting to jump over my desk and rip my professors head off for talking too long! With my second pregnancy, I was changing my then 1.5 year old sons diaper and he was talking to me about something funny and I wanted to rip his head off just for talking!
Then about a week later I would get this metal taste on my tongue. Then around week 7-8 is when the full on nausea and vomiting would start for me.
Just take the test, your mind can play crazy tricks on you when you want to be pregnant, you can be positive that your breasts are sore or that things are making you gag... and then, nothing. The old-fashioned pee tests is the best way and nowadays the results can show up like a week after you conceive. Don't make yourself too anxious with looking for signs... just enjoy the ride :)
My symptoms were extremely sore breasts, and then other reg. PMS symptoms. I had a raging headache, and figured I'd start my period any day...and then didn't! ;)
Early pregnancy symptoms mimic PMS symptoms and really it's a matter of what you want (to be/not be pg) that leads you to interpret them. If you are two weeks past conception (4 weeks pregnant), then you can take a home test and it should be 95% accurate at this point. Good luck!
Hi,
With our first I was spotting and my breasts were already sore at about 5 days. Cramping followed pretty closely after that. I didn't experience any nausea. Good luck to you and your hubby!
I started my honeymoon on June 1 (a few years back) and also started my period the same day. 2 weeks later, while still on my honeymoon in London, I fell asleep at the dinner table. We were in a romantic restaurant and I (who has insomnia) actually fell asleep! So, to answer your question, yes - symptoms can show up as early as 2 weeks after conception! Unfortunately, you're going to have to wait it out a couple more weeks to take a urine test unless you go to your OBGYN or Planned Parenthood and get a blood test done. Just to warn you - with both my kiddos the first home pregnancy test I took came up negative. I had to wait until I was 6 weeks preggers for it to detect, but I knew in my heart I was. Everyone is different though! Good luck to you!
I had breast tenderness pretty much within 2 weeks.
And yes, it varies for each woman and each pregnancy.
You can always check with your OB/GYN.... to see if you are pregnant. But I guess- as they say, you need to have missed a period first? I don't know.
Take Pre-natal vitamins already. Even PRIOR to trying to get pregnant, it is recommended. That is what my Doc recommends. And eat healthily, getting enough folic acid etc.
All the best!
Susan
Google a phenomenon called "phantom pregnancy". I had so many pregnancy symptoms but wasn't pregnant. The one month I did not feel any symptoms was the month I took a positive pregnancy test! Otherwise I would say frequent urination is the most common symptom early on. Its funny what our minds do to us when we are expecting to get pregnant.
At about the 2-3 week mark I felt more sleepy than ever before in my life, even after a full 8 hours! I will never forget I went on a fishing trip with my hubby and I could not keep my eyes open! I had no idea it was pregnancy then, but thats what it was. At 4 weeks, I felt nauseous, and certain smells started to really bug me. I was on a weekend trip with my hubby for my MIL's wedding and I felt fine the entire trip, but woke up the last day not feeling quite right, I knew something was definitely up. It can honestly be that sudden of a change!
my first symptom was my clothes felt tighter immediately.. i couldn't understand why i was in NYC walking around so much yet my clothes felt tight and i could tell i was gaining weight.
I have a 2 year old. I did not have your typical pregnancy. I had cravings my first 3 months, but did not KNOW I was pregnant. My 3 blood tests and 5 at-home pregnancy tests came out negative until I was 5.5 months prego. As I was saying, the first 3 months I "craved" McDonald's. I got sick ONLY in the evenings, around 5:00pm. I was tired, but that wasn't unusual. I did notice my breasts getting bigger, but there was no tenderness. I did gain weight, and my clothes didn't fit quite as well around the first trimester. Now that I look back, I should have known that I was pregnant, haha! You might as well take a test. If it comes back negative, remember my story, you COULD be! GOOD LUCK!!!
Hello T.. It's hard to say, every pregnancy is different, but with my last one I had severe nausea and was dead tired all the time. My daughter was the one who said, "Mom, you're pregnant" to which of course, I responded, "yeah, right!'. Well, I took a pregnancy test the next day and lo and behold it was positive (strange on so many levels). Anyway, they calculated that I was 5 weeks along but when I went home and did the math, I was actually two weeks, so I thought "this is going to be a very long pregnancy" (which it wasn't, surprisingly enough). Anyway, I didn't get nauseated with my first two, but the one consistent thing was tiredness. I couldn't keep my eyes open very long through any of them, and that, to me, was a clear indication, one I had overlooked this last year! The only other thing I could tell you is with my first two, I just "knew" I was pregnant, hard to explain. I also got my period with them well into the pregnancy, so my HCG levels were down and it was hard to get a positive test. I remember when I was pregnant with my second, I would go to the doctor's office every week for a test. (I worked in the building and they offered free tests). Anyway, every Friday I was in there and after the third time (and third negative result!) the lady administering the test asked me "do you WANT to be pregnant?" and I said no, but that I KNEW I was. Sure enough, about a month and a half later it showed up positive. I was so glad that I didn't have to spend my Friday lunch breaks in there anymore! lol Anyway, I said all of that to say..... you can be pregnant and take a test and the test could be negative. Or, you could get a positive right away. It just depends on the levels of HCG that your body produces. Best of luck to you :)
Hi T.,
It's so frustrating in the beginning because so many of the symptoms that would tell you that you're pregnant feel just like the symptoms that could tell you you're getting your period (hence, obviously, not pregnant). FWIW, I did not have any symptoms initially and did not think I was pregnant...I took like 5 tests to confirm! I started getting symptoms when I was 6 weeks pregnant (which, I suppose, is 4 weeks after technical conception) and that's when I started feeling sick to my stomach and exhausted.
Good luck!!
well i have a 10 month old lil girl and d only symptoms i had was that i was very sleepy n tired my first month then i was nauseous n i would vomit 1-3 months and the rest were good just the basic back hurting feel ankles and stuff well i hope u the best
Hi, T.,
I've been pregnant four times, and each pregnancy was different. Really, the only way to determine whether you are pregnant is through a pregnancy test offered by a lab. A distant next best would be a home pregnancy test in which you follow the directions as closely as possible.
Best wishes,
Lynne E
my early symptoms were fatigue/exhaustion...i would fight myself from falling asleep behind the wheel as I drove home from work. then, i would crash on the couch and not wake up until a few hours later. this symptom started happening 1-2 weeks after conception i believe. another early symptom was motion sickness and not wanting to eat meat (which was something I loved to eat before pregnancy!). I think this started happening about 1-2 mos post conception.
