Advice on Combining Breastfeeding and Pumping
Here is the deal: 5 weeks into breastfeeding, I still have very sore nipples. The pediatrician and lactation consultants think it's NOT because of latching issues but because of the shape of my baby's hard palette--something that can't be changed. Therefore, to reduce my pain and give my nipples a chance to heal between feedings while keeping up my milk supply, it's been suggested that I try to pump and bottle feed for about half the feedings and put my son on the breast for the others.
