3 Year Old Behavior...

Hello there...I am looking for new tricks to have up my sleeve when dealing with my 3 year old daughter. As of late she has taken to shrieeking when put on a time out. I also have not been able to get her to say "I'm sorry for _____" once she's out of her time out. She flat out refuses and walks away or says she "can't". She also has taken to talking or raising her voice over mine to repeat herself when told "no" in getting something. This she picked up from me due to my using it when she started repeating herself so say "noooooo" over her....

Having a Hard Time Trying to Teach My 4 Year Old!!!!

Hello wonderful moms! I need your help. My 4 year old is having a hard time focusing. Since I'm a SAHM and we don't really have the funds to send him to a preschool, I try to teach him myself a long with my 21 month old son. He is very smart BUT its like he dont apply hisself. My husband told him he wants a SMART kid not the COOL kid. My son then says to his father, "Well I want to be cool, not smart!" We can sit down and try to do his workbooks and worksheets and he wants to play, or he starts talking about something that has nothing to...

3 Year Old Prescribed Adderall- HELP!!!!

After the last 18 months or so we finally have some answers to our sons ourbursts and radical behavior. Our 3 year old has been diagnosed with Autism and his Dr. put him on Adderall yesterday. I am new to all of this and am having some real issues giving my child a drug of this magnitude. Our son is Only 3 years old and has had some behavioral issues for the last 18 months or so. His fits of rage even scared me at first not because he is violent but because he just gets so involved in him self and can and will not get over what ever...

Has Anyone Heard of Gripe Water?

I have recently heard about Gripe Water for helping little tummies. I have been buying Gerber Gas Drops, but it doesn't seem to be helping, and my son (@6 months) has such bad gas pains at night that he wakes up 3-6 times and needs comforting. Nursing helps, but that's me getting up 3-6 times to do so and having little to no sleep. Does anyone know about Gripe Water or talked to their pediatricians about it? Just inquiring. Thanks in advance for your feedback and thoughts.

Overstimulated.......husbands On Christmas Morning?

One of many things I love about Troy is he is a big child when he is around the kids. Well this year I got a helicopter for my daughter since she plays with Troy's all the time. So it arrived two days ago and he keeps pulling it out of the closet with that hang dog look of "but it is nicer than mine". :( I felt so bad it is now a gift to Genna and Troy. Don't worry for the child she is getting wayyyyy too much anyway. So I got him a writing tablet. If you are not familiar a writing tablet is a tablet that attaches to your computer...

Blankie and Thumb Sucking

I am seven months pregnant and my youngest is just about to turn three. She has a special blankie that she sleeps with and sucks her thumb with. Our pediatrician said that around three is when we should deal with the issue. I think we waited too long. Also, my concern is that if I try to take it away now and try to discourage the thumb sucking with the baby coming that the events are too close together. I know she is going to have other issues when the baby comes. Any advice about how to get rid of the blankie/thumb and opinions on...

Is This Separation Anxiety?

My son, 17.5 months, has ramped up his separation anxiety in general the past couple months. Like, I go upstairs and it's "Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!" with tears and everything, and all is fine when I return. I have read a number of places that separation anxiety peaks at 18 months, so we're on track for that. However, I am unsure what to make of this: I am a SAHM and my DH works long law-firm hours, and see DS maybe 1-1.5 hours during the weekday. In the morning if he's awake when DH leaves, he is happy to follow Daddy in the bathroom while...

(Extreme?) Stranger Anxiety

From 3 months on, my son (now 8 months) has been afraid of everyone and everything. It goes beyond normal stranger anxiety. Random people say a mere hello to him at the grocery store and he collapses in tears and screams. They don't even touch him! He even screams at people who he sees every week at church and grandparents. He only likes mommy and daddy.. Is this normal??? It seems extreme. I AM a stay at home mom... but I take him out all the time (I DO need to stay home to get stuff done *sometimes*) and he sees the same people over and...
