ERGO...what Do You Think?

Hey Moms, I trust your advice more than any others. I've heard good things about the ERGO baby carrier. I'm considering getting one. Is it worth the price? (That's a considerable cost for our family) My 23 lb. 1 yr old grew out of his Bjorn carrier long ago and we have a metal frame backpack carrier, but I can't help but wonder about the Ergo. I Like the Ergo Carrier, but How Much Weight Can It Hold?

I have a very heavy 7 month old son who has to be held all the time, and I'm interested in the Ergo carrier, but how much weight can it hold? Currently my son is 26 lbs. Are there any better carriers? I'm not much of a wrap fan. I hate dealing with a lot of fabric.
