Food Idea for Air Travel

My 3 year old daughter has a severe peanut allergy and we are off for an international trip soon, and the flying time, hmmm, over 15 hours. My carry on will not be short of snacks, but does that mean my little girl will go for a day without any hot food? My heart aches just thinking about it. So we need your idea of safe air-travel friendly and "real" food. She likes sandwiches with deli meat/cheese and any type of pasta, but I worry how long I can keep the food without them getting bad, just too risky for such a long flight. Tonight...

Son W/ Multiple Allergies. Help!

I just found out today that my 13-month-old son, who I thought only had a milk allergy, which was bad enough, also is allergic to peanuts and eggs. Needless to say, I'm freaking out. Nobody in my family has ever had food allergies and so it's just so hard to grasp the fact that he has one. I know I have to totally change our lifestyles, including my 3-year-old's, who has no allergies whatsoever and loves to eat everything everywhere. Has anybody else had to deal with this? I'm just lost.

4 Year Old with Diabetes

My grandson has just been diagnosed with diabetes, like last night in the hospital. He had been tons of fluids, peeing it all out, didn't want to eat. Parents brought him in thinking that maybe he was coming down with the flu. That would have been easier to handle! Anyway, what can we expect from this diagnosis, how do you handle the injections, blood sticks for testing, good foods/bad foods and all the other necessary things that go along with this disorder? He has an older brother and younger brother and sister. How does diabetes fit in...

3 Year Old Allergy Testing

My 3 year old has been struggling with itchy eyes and nose off and on for the last year or 2. I hate to medicate him for allergies because I keep thinking he just has a cold that won't go away. But the doctor always says he has allergies because of the way his eyes look and the allergy salute where he keeps rubbing at his nose. I think it has become a habit also because now he rubs his whole mouth and nose and he has rubbed his sensitive skin on his cheeks and chin to where it is sore and red. This happened a few months ago and then went...

Seeking Info on Treating Allergies in Preschool Children

My 3 year old's pediatrician just prescribed Nasonex and Zyrtec on a daily basis for my 3 year old. His allergies are minor and have not really impacted his daily life although they flare up occasionally. I'm not comfortable giving him a steroid on a daily basis, and I really don't want to start him on a daily regimen of 2 medications, much less one. I'd prefer to just treat it as it happens, but I'm not really certain if that works. Does anyone have any information on these medications or other solutions to minor seasonal allergies? I've...
