Car Seat & Airplane Trip

My son and I will be traveling to Denver in a couple of weeks. He will have his own seat so I have to bring a car seat. I have a Britax. Do these things fit in the air plane seat or will I have to go in search of a new type of seat? I could probably check with the manufacturer but I figured the mamas on Mamasource know a whole lot more......
