I know my fitness club offers a zumba toning class in addition to the regular zumba class. Zumba toning might produce the results you are looking for but also ease stress. Have fun!
Ok my husband seems to think that zumba is to only lose weight what do you guys think? I'm already very thin but want to tone up and easy some of my stress levels. THank you

It is cardio and I lost weight only doing Zumba. It will ease stress for sure, its tons of fun, easy & its simply dancing. I dont know how it would work for toning though, maybe Zumba with light weights.
It is a lot of fun and actually most of the instructors I have seen were not really that thin, but boy they could move it! I think it would be what you are looking for, it is a ton of fun and would reduce your stress.
I feel that exercise is a natural stress reliever, so if you want to do it, go for it. But if you're looking to build muscle, yeah, you probably should look into weights. That being said, I'm in pretty good shape, but I was sore after the one time I took zumba.
I agree with AG.
You will need to do strenght training to tone up and it will also help you build muscle mass and help prevent osteoporosis. Your scale may show a weight gain--that doesn't matter, go by measurements instead.

If you want to tone do pilates.
Hi S.,
It will tone as well. Just push a little harder. Lift your legs a little higher. Take larger steps. I started slow and had tons of fun but when it became easy to me I just pushed harder. It's great cardio. It helps with weight but anything that involves muscle activity will tone...

You can check with your local Y ans see if they offer the class. We are a pretty small town and it's taught here twice a week. The process of moving muscles and breathing harder causes the body to let the stress loose and you will feel better almost immed. The continuous use of any exercise plan will help. Zumba is fun and not much like exercising.
If you are not a member at the Y then ask about a day pass to try Zumba out. If you know anyone they can pay $10 or so for you to visit with them.
Zumba would get the heart rate up, so it would definitely reduce stress! It sounds like so much fun! I have been wanting to try it too.
