I went to my doctor today for my regular check up Im 26 2/7 weeks. I have had everything from constipation, migraines, morning sickness all the time, no weight gain till last month I finally gained 4 lbs, then today I was told I only gained 2 more pounds this time, I have the not able to get comfortable and sleep at all, and the acid reflux, back ache, stomach and abdominal discomfort, im tired all the time and having contractions but no dialation thank goodness. My doctor has put me on differant medications but I am very reluctant to tkae meds cause I dont want to get dependant on them. This is my last pregnancy no more for me. But I am also totally misreable.
Does anybody have any tips for getting through any of this for the rest of the pregnancy?

Go get a prenatal massage!! That always made me feel better. I had one as often as I could.

I hope you feel better soon.

I feel for you. I was too a single mother of a 14 yr old and had one on the way when the baby's dad left when i was 16 wks preg. I was on strick bedrest from beginning to the end. I suggest a bodypillow to put behind your back and get a pillow for between your legs or even a heating pad will alliviate some of the pain. You might want to ask if you can take tylenol for back pain. saltine crackers help with morning sickness as well as sprite, keep them next to your bed. I had to take zofran which helped, they dissolve under your tongue. ask your doctor about that. Dr is precribing something for you i would take them especially since you still have a long way to go, good luck.

Yep, i had a massage as well...it was great. I also recommend seeing a chiropractor regularly. I did and it helped. There are areas they can work on that help with problem areas...ie bowels. good luck!

I can feel for you big time!! I will say, take some meds!! The zofran is a big help, and I was able to take heartburn meds which helped as well. That, and I spent a lot of time at the pool recently which helped with the pain. I would not take Ambien, as I reacted horribly once when I took it pregnant, but if they can give you a pain reliever/muscle relaxer for bed time, it might help. You need to sleep. maybe even some Tylenol PM..which I have taken at times during several pregnancies and been fine. I will say, I have never gained weight with my pregnancies, in fact I had a baby a week ago today, and I am currently 24 lbs. less than what I weighed when I got pregnant. However, she was a healthy 7lb 15 oz. It takes a toll on me for sure, but with 5 pregnancies, all of my babies have been healthy. Just do the best that you can, eat whatever you can stomach, and if all else fails, some Sonic ice sure got me through to at least staying hydrated!! If you feel too bad, I have gone into the hospital and had an IV run to pump me back up with fluids, and it really helped. Dehydration will cause contractions, so focus on that...eat watermelon if you can, soup, popsicles, snow cones..whatever!! Good luck, you can make it for sure! And I can say today that it was all worth it!! ~A.~
